6’2”

The Suburban only has anchors in the center seat and passenger seat of the middle row. The passenger side seat folds up to give access to the rear row so you don’t want to block that so you’re forced to use the middle row. Stupid design. Anyways, I never said and SUV is harder than a twin. Well TBH I find it easier to drop the seat into my car than to climb into our Suburban but that is mostly due to the middle seat BS. I was referring to a mini van being easier than an SUV.

On the twin if you lock the seat forward you don’t have to bend over at all.

Try breastfeeding if possible and if you try and fail find someone with experience to give tips. It’s worth it to not give up and switch to formula. No heating bottles at 3am. No cleaning bottles the next day. You are never running out of formula while on a vacation. The odds of a man getting out of night duty is significantly higher if breastfeeding. Worst case night duty consists of a grabbing the baby and bringing it to mom in the bed and maybe a diaper change. Beats the hell out of looking for a bottle and lid, mixing, heating, feeding and then burping. By the time you are done you are fully awake. My wife can just lay on the bed and feed on her side half asleep and when done there is hardly any burping to be done like when bottle feeding.

It’s hard for the wife at first but it gets easier before you know it. She is a stay at home mom so that does make it a lot easier. So no pumping and all that.

That does sound like a completely horrible design.

IDK, when the kids older I look forward to taking him in it, but for right now I'm glad I dont have to make that car work. If I were in the position to only have one car it would be something like a forester xt.

I'm pretty sure I spent more time in the floorboard and under the dash of my parents' car than I did the seat. Unless it was a long roadtrip and I took a nap on the back shelf.

Many of my parents cars had no floorboards. I have told the tale of the 2,000 mile trip in the floorless 64 Mustang a few times. Nothing but road flashing by, spinning driveshaft and exhaust fumes (if there is no floor you can bet there was no exhaust system).
At least one of my dad's pickups didn't even have doors.

Seatbelts?????

The only reason our cars had floorboards is because we lived in NC. My Grandmother's '68 Corvair (based in KY) in its later years only had floorboards because my Grandfather removed the seats and repaired it with a large local diary sign he "found" on the side of the road.

I believe I have also told my favorite family road trip story here as well. My Aunt, mother, two sisters, my brother, a full grown german shephard and me traveling 600 miles to visit our Grandparents in a late 60's VW Bug. My baby sister was 4 months old at the time and road in the front seat with my Mom.

There were some mountains in NC we almost didn't make it over (this we pre-Interstate and all back roads.

OP,
I think as long as you ignore the anti-vaxxers and anti-education people, you'll be alright.

Just wait it out. Eventually both those groups will just disappear.
