Don't know if they make them anymore... tried to order and several places state they have been on back order for 2 years!

The CP would be a spiritual successor to the W3, which was quite good, and the discontinuation of the W3 is one of the reasons why the CP was even developed.

@timurrrr the CP survived ACS on stock tires with base calipers, as well as with Brembo/245 SX2 on my turbo BRZ. This may be exactly what you're looking for.

How do you compare ACS to say Laguna Seca or Thunderhill West?
I presume C1/C2 would still be better there with Brembo/245 SX2's?

I should say the Porterfields do dust more than OEM. Overall they're good pads...not incredible...but a large step above OEM (which again...are garbage) and they're not expensive.

I thought about Winmax W2 or W3 instead and did not know about the CSG CP pads. Maybe next time!

Not that it matters anymore, but I have been streeting W3's since March 2019. They have been great. Noticeable difference between cold and hot, mildly noisy, moderately lipped rotor, quite dusty. Probably three-fifths to two-thirds worn after 20k. I think my only complaint is how hard the TCS grabs now. Before it was a suggestion, W3's just do it.

Just a bit of sticker shock with the CP, over 2X the cost of the W3... a bit rich for my tastes, although I have heard nice things about them. I suppose quality does cost, but that is what was so nice about the W3s... very good price/performance.

CP cost per unit life is superior to the W3.

ACS is worse than Laguna on brakes.

So you're telling me I can just use CSG CP for everything, as long as I track on 260+ TW tires?
Sounds too good to be true

I'm saying you can, not that you should. Whether you should or not is something only you can determine for yourself.

Haha gotcha.
So C1/C2 would still be better miles/$ (including hidden costs like more frequent caliper rebuilds), but CP can be used at the track in a pinch.

Here's what I want from new pads:
  • Streetable. I don't want three sets of pads (street + track + autox).
  • Little to no squeaking, little to no dust.
  • Stiff. I don't want my brake pedal to go all the way to the floor when I brake hard. With CSG C2 the pedal has much shorter travel.
  • Higher coefficient of friction than OEM, but perhaps less than CSG C2. I don't want the pedal to be too sensitive (see below).
  • Fits PP Brembos (if it wasn't clear already)
It checks every box on this list. You could have seen it on two different cars with two different brake setups this weekend if you were at ACS!

It's a street pad and really meant to be used on the street only, but can be tracked in a pinch. Expect a slightly longer pedal than the C2 at the track, but definitely way shorter than OEM.

Due to how friendly it is to the rotor, it will take a while for the CP to mate to the rotor, and get fully up to snuff in terms of pedal stiffness. There's no way to accelerate this other than to drive.

You're welcome to feel my brake pedal out at 86CUP round 12.
