Hmmm...pouring rain, seems that rainy season has officially started. Getting a bit scared about driving...they kept telling me about snap oversteer.

Oh oh.. that does not look good on the future 2nd lieutenants when they need to lead soldiers in the field.. You cannot always rely on GPS to guide you.

Yup, they emphasized this many times in class. They have a dozen stories on tap to tell us what happens when you lose your plugger and are terrible at land nav. One was the popular story of an engineering unit in Iraq that took a wrong turn and was ambushed.

Most of them went to basic so I'm thinking it was just a tough course. I barely passed night because of wasting time and walking to my farthest point last but if I'd followed my attack plan for day I would have had all of them.

This? http://www.army.mil/symbols/armyranks.html

To become a 2nd lieutenant you just need a college degree, military science(ROTC) as a minor, and a commission. Past Captain you need a Master's degree. Past Colonel you need to attend war college to become General staff.

Enlisted ranks are more about experience. A Sergeant typically has 4 years experience. They make a point to tell us how when we get out of college we'll be responsible for a Platoon Sergeant who might have 8 or more years experience.

iPad mini announcement kinda overshadowed the other stuff in today's keynote. Honestly, I was kinda disappointed with the iPad Mini. too expensive, and not enough new stuff. It's just the guts from the 2.

But iPad 4 looks great, A6X is fast as hell. Nice upgrade.

13" RMBP looks awesome for people like me who are filmmakers and need a machine they can move around. I find 15" and larger to be a bit cumbersome, and that kinda offsets the extra real estate.

The new iMac, ooooohhhh man. If I wasn't in a small dorm with virtually no desk space, I would be all over that. iMacs are hugely potent machines for Final Cut Suite users... Plus, they look ridiculously cool.

STOP, Guff, you're just a broke-ass college kid. You don't need new editing machines. You don't really have time to make films anyway...
