I'm really loving the engine position. That's LOW. Also, is that maybe a hatch back? Please let the subie be a hatch.

Looks like a hatch to me as well. That would be the PERFECT distinction between the Toyota model and the Subie...I for one am not a huge hatch back lover, so I would naturally go for hte Toyota. I always wanted to see some sort of difference between the two (other than slight styling tweaks). This would be it!

I do not want the hatch-back version. I REALLY dislike the STi models that were hatch only. Coupe > Sedan > Hatch(at least the way subie did theirs) Celica hatches were hot. Fastbacks are usually pretty nice.

Ah see now a fastback like the Celica, and I would be jumping for joy. I just don't want a bubble butt type hatch. So IMO Coupe and/or Fastback>hatch. So whoever makes the former I will jump on board. If it's the latter, I'm out.

I agree with the two post above me. I hate minivan style hatches, give it a fastback hatch like my rsx.

On another note, looks like it's using macpherson struts up front... was hoping for double wishbones or multilink all around, but can't get everything I suppose.

Think it was mentioned from the get go that there would be struts up front. Porsche and BMW get by just fine with them (As did the MR2, Lotus Elise, AE86 and Nissan Silvias) , so I'm not going to complain. |

A question for the Subie fans:
Does anybody know if the engine will sit lower than on the other Subarus? I was wondering if some of the transmision axes or something that power the front train in the AWD Subarus pass under the engine. If this is true, then they could place it lower, Isn't it? Thank you
