awd is good but just look at how much horse power is lost on that to the wheel . Its horrible. I have been lucky to have own the STi and the evo 9. Had the STi dynoed and it hit 245 hp from a 300 hp motor. if the subaru version been rear wheel drive instead of 55hp lost it would probably only lose between 35 to 40 at the wheel.

I'm really hoping this will be the future of the STi with 325hp rear wheel drive and leather interior i would be happy to pay 32,000 + for it .

Better than a RWD/FWD if everything else was the same. However ride height also plays an important part with snow driving (at least if you are talking about a good size storm). A car with 3-4in of ground clearance won't do as well as a comparable car with 6-7in of ground clearance.

Just in general this car is meant to be sporty so it will have the ride height of a sports car rather than that of a Forrester. However for those days you might get some bad weather it will handle better than a Miata, 370z, RX8...etc. But I still hope they make the Subaru version RWD.
