I am glad one of them finally came out and said that the turbo version of the twins is not financially viable. Not a whole ton of people are going to pay $30k+ for a car with the build and interior quality of the FRZ.

Ha! Fair enough. So then I wonder how many people on here would still want a turbo version of the FR-S if it cost ~$35k? Especially since you would think that the price differential between the base and STi version might be even more significant than on the WRX. Just thinking that it has to cost quite a bit more for a company to add a turbo to an NA engine than to upgrade an already turbo'd model. Granted, I am not sure how much, if any, of the engine parts are shared between the base WRX and STi.

I hope so. Obviously a 3JZ swap will be the next step after the mandatory 2JZ swap in all of our cars.

Yeah the title says "Says FR-S Turbo and Cabrio Axed"....
As far as the tranny goes I think crawford has done many race days with their turbo BRZ and never had an issue with the tranny. |

DylanFRS, I and a few others were willing to pay 30k+ for the Toyota 86 GT Limited version, without a turbo. As a Toyota, it would have had the option to be more expensive than the Scion and less expensive than the Scion, depending on what trim was purchased. Giving it to Scion was a terrible mistake on Toyota's part. The single model with no options thing is destroying the future expansion of the car in North America. Quote:

A base 370Z, here, is $40,978. You have to keep in mind the differences between the FR-S and 86 GT Limited too (see the link in my sig.)
