The BRZ tS does have the "STI" badges on them from factory though.

Let's not drag on this any longer and pollute this awesome thread. I will delete everything I posted later hope you guys do the same. Ciao
Most likely the cover picture was taken before the BRZ tS was ready. Its just not on the cover but most likely within the magazine itself. All the models, including all the tS cars, are actual "STi" cars because they're from the division. In fact, the BRZ tS is more an "STi" than a modern WRX STi because the former was developed by STi while the latter is a trim put together by Subaru corporate using STi parts.

Also, the legacies on the right and the foresters in the back are named tS cars just like the BRZ tS (in other words, they're not called the legacy STi and forester STi)

This is just a debate on the topic that got introduced. Its not an attack on you or anything, so you don't need to get defensive. Its just some friendly information sharing

That's the actual answer since STI 25th Anniversary was 2013, the BRZ tS wasn't announced till approaching the end of 2013.

On that magazine cover, at the very end of the left row isn't that an Exiga tS minivan?

STI is the tuning arm, tS just means tuned by STI. Their marketing probably got the idea from BMW and M GmbH initially (GC8 Impreza WRX STi in itself was the same idea as the BMW E30 M3 due to homologation). And then for a while the S204/S206/S402 came with aluminum silver door mirror covers which is a ripoff of Audi and Quattro GmbH. Even those car model names like S20x and S40x remind me of AMG. Nothing wrong with that since I find Japanese ripoff stuff often are done just as well if not better than the original.

This is also why there will never be a BRZ STI trim from FHI, no need for purposeful homologation. Also I wouldn't be surprised if STI was consulted upon in the development of the original BRZ, as the project needed technical expertise from everywhere.

BTW I'm gonna stick a ricer STI Quick Steering sticker on the back window since we have 13.1:1 quick racks.

I do know tS mean Tune by STi, guess I just got mislead by the magazine cover. Just started digging into this thread cuz I'm getting a CWP Series Blue in a month & wanna see what's out there.

Well Japanparts got their crap together. Got the right pin stripes. Not a perfect install but it worked out fairly well.

I just ordered the US version of the sti wheels, and the place I ordered online said I need to order some more parts. This was his email response "That is the alloy wheel for the BRZ doesn't come with center caps, but you also have to get a few more parts when you swap over the TMPS sensor you need to get. That way you dont get any miss reading from them." I know about the center caps, but what now about this tmps parts etc?

I believe the 2015 BRZ's no longer use TPMS

so what "parts" do i need extra? This is the only store that has mentioned this. The dealership, and 3 other online stores never mentioned any of this.

Transfer your TPMS to the new wheels, and order the STI centercaps (if you want them).

I thought only the FR-S had the TPMS... Our 2013 BRZ in Canada don't have this.
