Toyota T/Cowboy Hat steering wheel emblem

Has anyone done this? Does it look oem? Seems like a super cheap alternative to replacing the steering wheel cover.

Feedback is welcome.

Thanks!

I have this. It's far cheaper it's like $30-40. It's basically a Toyota badge with 3M tape under it. Looks really clean. Unless you really want to spend $600-800 on a new airbag/steering wheel this is the better alternative. I'll upload pics.

I was really looking into this, but wasn't sure how it would "actually" look. I have seen some products where it looks pretty decent online in the stock pics, but when you actually have it in your hands and installed onto the car it looks tacky as hell.

Your pictures will be appreciated! Thanks!

I have this and I needed to take of the 3M adhesive it came with because it would not stick to anything ( too concave). So peice of warning in advance, looks better than the scion badging and can be justified instead of guying a gt86 airbag

Just make sure it is very well stuck on there! It can become a bullet if the air bag deploys if not really securely attached.

Did you press down on the horn to make sure it stuck or did you just gently push down on it? I mashed down on it hard honking my horn for a good 10 seconds but it's stuck on there well now.

heat the 3m adhesive with a hair dryer or heat gun and lay into it like above said.. no problems

It looks alright, it kind of depends on what sort of look you were going for. If you want it to look like a totally modern stock Toyota emblem it will fail to satisfy you. The triple ellipses won't have the chrome shine as you'd find on any modern Toyota steering wheel emblem. Its rather a more mild silver that doesn't really pronounce itself much, but it also won't glare. The closest OEM emblem I think is more or less what its going to actually look like is the emblem you'd find on the 1st gen Toyota Prius.

Sort of like this.

If a look like that is satisfactory then you'll like it. The only difference is since its a badge on top of another badge it'll stick out and not be recessed like the Prius'.

Don't mean to be "that guy" and bump an old thread, but anyone have pics? I'm trying to decide whether to get the matte black or the silver and black. My biggest thing is it looking "natural".

There are more emblem options available, I got the 86 style one. However I worry about theses shit flying into our eyes during airbag deployment
