I saw a RS2 in front of fairview mall today. I beeped my horn like crazy. Then I saw a white FRS and a red FRS parked at the mall. Also a blue BRZ on Manitou, I flashed my high beams.

Question for you guys that drive your twin in the winter. Do you notice a lot of damage from salt, ice and everything else really. I've been really thinking about just driving mine next winter with a good set of snows.

The only thing I noticed was rust on my exhaust system. Everything else is okay if you keep things clean. This will be winter #2 so we'll see after a good wash in the spring what the damage is

I have put about 60K on it in the winter. It has stood up pretty well but if you are truly anal then you may want to park it. Most of my miles are 401, so at speed, even in the winter. My front bumper is pretty much blasted matte orange from salt/sand but that is my own fault for getting in behind sanders. I have a scrape on the lower side of my bumper from hitting a big chunk of wheel well ice that was frozen to the ground and hidden under fresh snow. Other than those couple of things it is all good. I look at it as a car and it will wear out anyway so if it only lasts 10 years instead of 10.8 because I drove it in the winter that so be it. I just wash it weekly in a touch less wash and give it a deep cleaning and wax in the spring and you would never know what it had been through. All in all I have more damage from debris being thrown up in the summer than I do from driving in the winter.
I will say that with the right tires on it the thing is a tank in the snow and I have never had a single issue no matter what the conditions.

I drive from London to Woodstock 3 days a week and Windsor the other two.
You would probably have way less wear and tear than I do. Just stay away from the salters when they are throwing since that is where the bulk of my damage is coming from. Makes the worst noise in the world when it hits you. I buy cars to drive not park for half the year with the full understanding that they will receive some damage in the winter. Like I said though it still cleans up nice in the spring.

Like I always say, what's the point of storing a cheap, massed produced sports car to only enjoy for half the year? These cars are good enough in the winter, and have only been almost stranded once since I picked my car up in December 2014.

The only reason I was almost stranded was because of that blizzard Toronto got in the middle of December 2016, and I ended up in a valley on the way to my girlfriends place (thanks google maps). For what it's worth, even trucks were having problems getting up the hill I couldn't get up until I just gunned it up the wrong way of a 1 way street that was a bit less steep

I sure do, I travel from Kitchener to Brantford daily, and once a week to Buffalo. I've done this for two winters now.

I have a set of General brand snows on the stock rims. They work great.

As for damage I have a few stone chips but nothing more. I have a few spots of rust on two of my lug nuts where the metal plating got damaged from putting on the tires.

I tend to stay back from the cars in front of me and away from transport trucks, which helps avoid road grit and stones being thrown at me.

I also take it to the coin op car wash every one or two weeks and clean all the salt and dirt off.
