Unhappy Mid range really lacking

I got my firestorm FR-S today that came with the 2014 scion display audio. I found the speakers sounding really tinny. Mid range was really lacking unless I cranked the volume to 25-30. Is there an equalizer setting that I could use to boost the mid range? Do these speakers start sounding better as they break-in?

(comparing to the audio in my Honda odyssey)

Check the settings to make sure it's set for "FR-S".

Overall, the speakers and sound are really, really lacking. So don't expect some magical improvement in them over time. I'm not an audiophile in the least. Couldn't give a flyin' fart. And even I noticed in seconds that the sound was horrible and have considered upgrades.

I listen at 25-30 anyway so I guess I just don't notice. In terms of an equalizer you can toggle between the three choices of Hear, Feel, and whatever the third is I don't recall (Natural?). I leave mine on Feel and crank the treble/bass to usually 4. Keep in mind you need to set the treble/bass option for each audio type. So if you set it while listening to the radio and then switch to bluetooth, you have to set it again because it defaults to 0 for each type (CD, AUX, Radio, USB, etc) until you adjust it. Once they're all set they stay.

Yeah I'm sure it's not amazing compared to expensive audio systems, but for free I feel it's pretty damn good. The BRZ crew only get a 196w so it's worse for them (though they do get a proper equalizer).

The problem is that the factory amp powering the 6.5's in the doors is terribly weak, and those speakers are your only source of bass in the car. There's not much you can do with what you're given from the factory to make things better.

There are several upgrade routes to consider depending on your budget. Personally I bypassed the stock amp using this method and I'm quite happy with the results. It's not a subwoofer but it really helped.

Swapping the door speakers with another 2ohm aftermarket speaker (Infinity or JBL are 2ohm)

Adding a sub would be relatively simple since the stock HU has sub pre-outs but you'd have to run power and RCA cables.

If you have some more money to throw around the OEM audio 400 ($1200) is getting very good reviews from everyone and the bonus is that it's plug and play.

There's also the full custom route if you're so inclined.
