I was just wondering how did your frs/brz handle
In the winter weather in the Great Lakes area? Pics and any
Comments appreciated!

Are you planning on getting winter tires? They are a must. If it is like any other smaller RWD car I have owned in the snow it should be fine with dedicated snow tires and a little extra weight in the back.

That's all you need and you'll be passing 4x4 trucks and suv's in a blizzard! (Well, not really, but the car does just fine in the snow, just don't get stuck in the deep stuff)

I drove mine all last winter with stock tires on. I don't really recommend it and suggest getting snow tires. Other than that like sportinjected said, the deep stuff sucks but its fine. Traction control saved my life few times.

That or just stupid. It went sideways on me twice doing 45 down 294, but the TC corrected it really fast. The other drivers gave me a wide berth after that.

I am lowered on Tein S Techs and the car never got stuck nor did I ever spin out or lose control and I was on stock Bridgestone tires. If you drive smart and take your time this car will do just fine in the midwest winters. It is all in the driver.

Most cars you see in winter accidents are AWD SUVs... people tend to forget no matter how many drive wheels you have, if you are on ice or are driving around on old tires, it doesn't make a lick of difference.

I drove mine on 16" steel wheels with continental snow tires. I only had one problem getting out of my neighborhood after a snowfall that was about as high as my clearance. I eventually got out of it.

This was my setup. Spec B wheels 18x7.5 with Blizzak LM-22 215/45/18. Did fine through the light stuff, but will need some extra weight in the rear to get better traction.

You can see the traction control kicking in and causing to the car to sway a little.

Drove back from Indy during a snow storm on the stock tires - maybe 3-4" of snow. NEVER AGAIN. Almost lost the car that day.

I used the stock all-seasons for my first winter. Northern Kentucky hasn't seen much snow the last couple of winters. There were maybe a total of 3 events where I had to drive on snow? And never much, or deep. The worst trouble I had the whole season was getting in my unshoveled driveway. I will say it made me nervous every time I did drive on snow, but never had an issue.

Debating if I want to get a good sport summer tire on new wheels, and put winter tires on the stock wheels when I upgrade, or if I just want a quality, sport all-season because of the winters here.

In-town, past winter was fun on Xi3's. On the hwy, when it's really slick, the back still tries to step out while going straight while going at the speed of other FWD/all-season-tire traffic. It's quite an uncomfortable feeling when there are other cars around, so I'm getting another car for next winter

I got stuck in a foot of snow during a huge snowstorm, but I am lowered and was on stock tires. Ill raise her up this winter and invest in a good set of snow tires. It's not terrible if its not deep snow!
