The difference is that I drove by the one I posted on my way to work the morning that picture was taken.

I attempted to drive by two of the three I attached but couldn't even get close since other roads were closed. Took me 2 hours to do a 20 minute trip since I had to drive halfway around the city. Was 40 year record amounts of water.

Ah, I could see the flooded underpass from the cross street I was taking to work. Was glad I didn't need to go that way lol. It floods like that at least once every year there is always some idiot who tries to drive through it. Last year the cop had to extract someone from their car and lit into them a bit but this is the snowflake generation:

Drove my BRZ in rain that was (briefly) heavy enough to require the wipers running at high speed for the first time. Did not crash.

Did you crash? This includes dropping underbody panels.

No crash. No panels ripped off. Really nothing exciting at all other than rivers where streets should be.

Drove my BRZ with Winter tires in 60 degree weather today. Did not crash,

though I took three weeks of life off the rubber.

It feels like driving on SUV high sidewall tires.

Parked my BRZ on the 2nd floor of a 2 floor parking garage today. The ramps up and down between floors were so steep I couldn't see where I was going half the time, but luckily the transitions were shallow enough I could go up and down without scraping the front lip. Spent some time searching for a decent exit from the structure though, first couple exits I saw were steep and narrow one-way things so I couldn't go sideways. Drove around a bit and found another exit I could get through without scraping. Luckily I don't have to do that very often, nearly everywhere I go has a shallow and/or wide driveway so it's easy getting in and out as long as I'm paying attention.

Also may have peeled out of one of those center left-turn lanes just a bit today. Back tires made a nice sound as I mashed the gas pedal. The stock "summer" tires have such good grip in California's "winter" months. Did not crash.

I drove my BRZ while there was water on the roads of SoCal and I SURVIVED!

Did not crash, not even once.

It sounds like the center section of my exhaust system has become two center sections, however... The sound of the exhaust leak sound is louder than ever and at certain low rpm frequencies just above idle I hear the seductive tones of metal parts slapping other metal parts. This car needs dry-dock. Also, what exhaust should I put on it? I love the sound of the Milltek system but I think this is the third unit that's literally disintegrated after ~10-15k miles and I'm loath to install another one. The Perrin seems to sound similar, but I'm not fond of the tips. Someone show me the Sharkwerks exhaust of Subaru-land!

Did the 100mi commute in the rain this morning, got cut off during a particularly hard down pour, braked hard, TCS kept me straight (I was in the middle of a pack of cars) - did not crash.

I've been driving in the rain for days now and my car still refuses to crash. What am I doing wrong?

You need to put winter tires on. California winters are serious business.
