It sounds like Tada confirmed there will be no manual option in the most recent interview.

I saw somewhere that the BMW Z version will have a manual transmission option. Has this been confirmed already?

Backing up a bit to the Camaro comments...Forget the turbo 4, the Camaro V6 weighs 3340 lb and makes 335hp. And starts at $28,000.

Toyota has their work cut out for them, especially since it looks like they half-assed this by letting one of the least reliable German automakers develop the engine for them.

If this car costs $45-50k you'd have to be crazy to pick it over a GT350 IMO. And I'm not a domestic guy at all - have never owned a domestic car.

1. 2 seater
2. I6
3. Hybrid isn't ruled out; just not developed for the I6 powerplant
4. 50:50 wd
5. Lower center of gravity compared to 86 - roof is 2.2 inches lower than 86; wheelbase is 4 inches shorter.
6. 2x 86 rigidity
7. No rear transaxle for affordability (not sure what this really means)
8. Active torque vectoring via differential
9. No steer or brake by wire
10. Porsche benchmark
11. GT Sport tie-in for e-racing
12. GT500 class, not GT300 like the previous A80 Supra.
Bonus: 'A90' chassis code

7. Depending on price point of the car, they're full of shit. Only "affordable" transaxle car at the moment is the Corvette (C5,6,7). Other notable transaxle sports cars are the front engined Porsches, the 928, 924, 944 & 968.

8. Handling band aid.

Damn, I can't believe it's that small. It looks like I need to lower my car a couple of inches...

I'm really surprised that it won't have electronic steering. It must be one of the few modern sports cars that won't have steer by wire right?

Lol, I guess my FR-S with the way it sits now is at the same roof height as what the "Supra" will be. That's pretty low. I wonder if it'll be just has hard getting in and out of it. Haha

Wish I could get a hard copy of that. Would be a cool souvenir type of item.

Sadly that document never came in hard copy. It only came in digital copy (PDF)... but I must admit, USB it came was pretty cool (UBS look like 86 emblem).

The previous gen Supra (A80) competed in GT500 also.

Steer by wire means like the new Infiniti Q50. Electric power steering isn't steer by wire, just using motor instead of hydraulic pump.

If the roof is even lower than the twin, does that mean something like a 2nd gen Eagle Talon / Mitsubishi Eclipse? That means my head will be brushing the roof SMFH!

Okay the roof is lower but the engine itself is taller than a boxer. Does that cancel out each other? That means the hoodline will be ridiculously high.

The shorter wheelbase will mean pretty aggressive turn-in? The steering rack could be variable?

And I believe most racks are still hydraulic. The motor runs the pump when required rather running all the time off the serpentine belt.
