@nhuyvan1106 to answer your question, holding in your clutch does put stress on the release bearing. The release bearing (throw out bearing) is a common point of failure in our transmissions as the cars get in the higher miles.

Hello all,
Before I begin, I bought GT86 from japan , model year - 2013 with Greddy T818z Set up. I don't know if the upcoming description is normal. When I try to shift from 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4 at 7000 or above RPM(Of course, I press the pedal down all the way), my gear shifts feel really hard , get lock and it requires quite an effort to shift between these gears. Can change the gear when RPM comes down to 5500 RPM. You know when you don't press your clutch pedal down 100%, it does not change gears smoothly (but not really , yeah, my car feels like that 100% percent ok all the time, especially when I shift gears between 2k rpm and 6k rpm. However, when I shift at higher rpm (usually near 7k rpm for me), it feels really hard . Can anyone explain what kind of problem is this. how can i solve it. Please help me out with this. Thanks alot. Btw, if you are wondering, the car is brand new. |

That "lock" is normal. The higher the engine speed, the greater is the difference in speed between the two gears. Shifts are not instant. It takes time for the two sides of the transmission to match up.
I bet it will help tremendously to just be aware of this and adjust your expectation accordingly. Apply steady pressure but don't force it. You will find that it takes a fraction of a second longer but shifts will be smoother this way.
