The TSB for rear-deck popping issue didn't work on my car, so the dealer/service dept did this to fix the issue.

Now I need to buy some spray paint to keep the rust off.

holy crap. i wouldn't be happy with the dealer if they center punched the crap out of it like that. looks like someone tried to shoot their way out of the trunk with a .22.

My friend thinks it was spot-weld, not just center punched. Fine with me as long as the issue get fixed. Hopefully the buyer/dealer whom I would trade my car years from now would not see it.

I have three very distinct rattles. One I've identified as the passenger side door switch, the other two have given me trouble. There's a metallic buzzing coming from behind the steering wheel at around 50-65 mph. It sounds like possibly a speaker but I'm not sure. Second is a rattling that sounds like the reverse lockout; it's particularly bad during acceleration. I know it's not the shift knob because I have a different one. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

I've always had some rattle noises by the driver's door speaker. Came that way and is still doing it. I'll eventually take the door apart and see whats up but I need to contact the dealer to get my window replaced due to that scratch line when putting the windows down... a few other users have gotten that.

I have a rattle in the trunk area. Sounds like the lid, but hard to tell. Rattles over small bumps. I'm going to try putting the back seat down and try to pinpoint. I hate rattles. I have traded cars because of rattles and I don't want to trade my Frs. I have been searching the net to see how many other owners have this problem and if so what they did to fix it, but no luck so far.

I would be pretty ticked if the dealer did that to my car! I would rather live with the rattle. That's ridiculous!

I've personally done the fix on my car and that sure looks like what I saw in my trunk....with the mutilation, of course.

No gotta live with it until it falls then you go to dealer to get it fixed.. sad part that they cant fix the problem. Dealership reattached my mirror after it fell but it still rattles, they told me before picking up car. Its the best they could do because the problem with the mirror is the screws subaru designed it with. They are horrible and dont have enough reach! Why cant it just be glued -_-
