It's the little things like this that make me love our cars. Clearly designed from the ground up for the enthusiast. Same way a 2JZ bolts in almost entirely on the factory mounting points.

Almost... http://www.speedparts.biz/jdmswaps.php?tempmodel=2710 - These here mounting brackets mount right up to the stock points.

@BlackMonarch yeah, I have those Xcessive Manufacturing mounts for my 1JZ.

Most swap kits for almost every car ever utilize the stock mounting points with a fabricated bracket that bolts to the engine... by the same logic, Nissan designed the 240sx "for the enthusiast" by making a Toyota 1JZ mount up... before the engine was even released

I think that is just a LHD/RHD alowment on the stock chasis to simplify production and lower costs on manufacturing and distribution across each market.

Just a happy coincidence, and not intended IMO.

Could be vestigial from other RWD toyota transmission tunnel designs, or from when the engineers were holding out hope for a real engine and trans combo in it.

That'd make perfect sense if the car didn't use the impreza/legacy platform as a starting point.

I mean in terms of the CAD data they used for the trans tunnel. I'm assuming they redesigned that section of the impreza chassis for the toyota trans but I guess I'm not sure.

Things to note for r154... 5" shifter extension(pretty quick to make), makes exhaust ground clearance to be low as hell (prob going to a flat style tube around this area, not now but down the road), and to clear front sway bar had to grind down some webbing on the outside of the case (see above)

***that's an old pic above

Lol forgot to mention... jza70 154

But we did the webbing cuts just in case I do decide to run a front sway (normally dont) but I have a feeling I'll be running something fairly large this go around.

Are the different versions any difference in price or are they all in the same ball park?
