As much as I'd love to track my car, this is why I don't. Hope driver is ok and car gets fixed ASAP.

So what happens with insurance if you crash your car at a track event? Is it not covered?

Hope the driver is okay!

Alot of insurance company's have been refusing to pay for damages caused at the track from what I've heard. So unless your track offers its own insurance all your repairs come out of pocket.

Honestly if it were him he probably wouldn't want his plates being shown on the internet.

I'd recommend removing the pic till you get an ok from the owner of the car (whoever they may be).

Coming from somebody that's crashed at the track before.

That's shitty! This is precisely what's holding me back from doing any track/auto-x events.

You can also purchase track day insurance from a number of companies. Unfortunately, it is fairly expensive and most HPDE drivers do not do it.

Auto-X is fairly low risk compared to Track if the course is setup correctly. That said, I've seen people destroy cars on an Auto-X course trying to be heroes and save a slide/spin. Luckily, the cones are fairly forgiving.
