I would never support this. I'm shocked TBH.

I like that it's being decriminalized. Automatically becoming a criminal sure as shit isn't fair.

Especially with the scrutiny the breathalyzers had been under recently, with being wildly inaccurate.

Well, mrs humfrz and I are into the third day of our five day TDY tour of tending to our three granddaughters.

I have a case for having kids while you are young.

Why?

Because if your kids have children and you are called upon to help tend to them ....... you won't be so damn old .........

Or you know, people could just not procreate. There's no life rule that says you must propagate your genes.

I will very likely have great grand kids to take care of at your age.

Having young Grandparents definitely has it's advantages. I'm the oldest child of an oldest child (my Mom), and my maternal Grandparents were 33 and 34 when I was born. They were very active right up into my young adulthood.

At one point, we had 6 generations of the family living.

Same here. My sister has a picture of my grandmother holding her great, great, great, grandchild. Now of course grandma was really old and the baby was just born but they both existed at the same time for at least a year.

Yep, that's pretty much it. A couple of babies less than 1 year old and the matriarch of the family that was 90. She lived to be 94, and the day she passed in her sleep had driven herself to her hostess job at a local restaurant. (little town "meat and 3" where she basically "held court" and chatted with people 3 days a week for a few hours)

Ha, this is funny to me. Both my mom's parents and my dad's mom all were pushing 55+ when I was born. My parent's are likely to be 57-60 by the time I have kids.

Now, in the present day, my parents are closer in age to my girlfriends grand parents who are all 60 give or take a couple years, than they are to my girlfriends parents, who are 41. Hell, I'm closer in age to her parents than my parents are.

My mother was the oldest of two so my grandparent on her side were only in their early 40s when I was born. I was the first born grandchild on that side and had a great relationship with them.

My father was the youngest of 6 and those grandparents were well into their 60s when I was born. They were in Quebec so we saw them about 2 weeks a year. On top of that I was something like the 22nd grandchild so was therefore known as "the boy from Ontario" or "Wayne's boy". Pretty sure my grandfather went to the grave without ever actually knowing my name.

As far as my grandsons go since they are 15 and 10 years old they are just like my pals and we share so many common interests it is weird at times.

That's the way I was with my grandparents. I spent summers on their farm.

I shared mechanical things (tractors, cars, trucks, etc), woodworking, and "farm stuff" with my Grandfather. I could sit and listen to him talk about WWII for hours (he was a paratrooper on D-Day). Some of it was probably actually true.

Shared interest in art, fishing, food (her cooking, me eating), love of historical interests (museums, historical sites) and general mule-headiness with my Grandmother.

That is my son and his wife. They have zero interest in having children and that is perfectly fine. Except in my wife's eyes since she will never get a granddaughter.

That's me, my Fiancée, and my mother. Even my Dad is starting to push it... I do want kids eventually (I'm 35 lol) but we both work major overtime so either one of us would have to quit or go part-time or else we would have to pay like a full-time nanny/babysitter.
