Please read before you make another post.

Hey as you can tell im new here. I dont post alot but i do a lot of reading because like many of you i have the mod bug. I have almost 2k miles on my black frs and can only think about what im going to do to my car next. I love this car, and these forums are cool, but im sick of people trolling around complaining about all the potential things that can go wrong with this car. YES we know its a first gen, YES we know it has issues, but if you dont like it GET OUT!!! This car is amazing, and I LOVE my ECU crickets. So please if you are considering buying an frs do it, or go complain somewhere else.

Then again everyone has their opinions and posts on the forum. You will always have haters , trolls then people like us that love the car. I guess its what makes a forum.

I like my crickets. I take them fishing for German Brown Trout in the Sierra's.
I love my AT FR-S also It takes me where ever I go. I love every minute of it, even in LA rush hour traffic. It took me 2 hours and 50 minutes to go 60 miles to get home tonight.

Best bang for your buck to add WHP/WTQ is an ECU Flash. Total is under 1K and should net you around a boost in WHP around 15 or so. Read up on it in the ECU sub forum.

People who are unhappy about something will typically try to tell everyone about it, and the internet is a magnet for it.

I have yet to experience ANY of the problems I should have by now at 3,000 miles. No cooked diffs, no crickets, no built in massager - er, I mean idle dip, no christmas lights on the dash... nothing... I am disappoint.

I mean, I'm supposed to be mad at this car for all it's potential that Toyota and Subaru couldn't get it right? Screaming for reimbursement for my precious time?

Or, does this just mean that I should start bitching and whining that my BRZ isn't the shitbox full of TSB's and warranty issues I was expecting it to be... Yeah, I'm gonna go start a rant thread because it's the internet and I have the right to be angry and tell everyone I don't know all about how butthurt I am... grr.

Sorry, but you happen to be on an internet forum. There is no rule that we have agree with you or love a car that we just dumped 30k on. Sorry.

The car is good. But it's neither a great car nor a future classic. Just another good car like the MR2 was some years ago. You can see how far that got Toyota last time?

Let's look back in three or four years and see if the Toyobaru brilliant intro marketing turns into sales substance?

Good to hear that you are enjoying your car, they do handle brilliantly don't they? Everything else is open to speculation and opinion.

seriously bdanisi, im so tired of everyone complaining, i wish i had thought to make a new thread complaining about all of the complaining like u did. at least you were smart about it and made an ambiguous title so nobody knew you were complaining, unlike those morons with CEL issues who make descriptive titles so people like you and me who don't want to read complaints can simply NOT CLICK ON THEM.

Yes, living in the city, I don't get to hear crickets a alot at night when sleeping. I find the ECU crickets from my engine block rather soothing.

As always, the few who complain will usually be louder than the majority who are quietly enjoying their cars. And of the few complaining, only about half actually own the car from what I've seen. The rest are basing their complaints on hearsay or what they read on the internet.

The twins are amazing drivers' cars for the price. The multi-page list of COTY awards and the lop-sided track comparisons they're routinely throw into (FR-S vs. Cayman S, BRZ vs. [insert Porsche/Lotus/other expensive sports car], etc.) are proof of that. I haven't seen a giant-slayer like this car in a long time, maybe ever.

Yeah there are way more than a few big whiners on this forun IMHO. Too bad you cant tick a little checkmark and put people into your whiners list. However, I do find it amusing reading some of these people's posts despite the impression they are giving newbies that this car is an Edsel or something. Personally I love my FR-S, although had I known a little more beforehand I'd probably have spent more and bought the upper trim Subaru. Now, I'm just spending the difference on add-ons, something I have NEVER done with a previous vehicle.
