The wheel just doesn't look good in general for me. I'd rather rock replicas

ADV1? Wedssport?

Hey all, Im a newbie to this forum and the whole car modification gig. I've got a BRZ on order and am looking at wheel options.

I dont want to bore people with questions that have been asked before, I need to do some reading on here on offset yada yada so will skip that side of things.

Really Im looking for opinions on ADV1 and Wedssport wheels?

I saw some posted earlier in the thread and my eyes bugged.

I contacted ADV1 and they responded within 12 hours!! Great customer service. So they build custom for the specific application - sounds great but sounds expensive - are they??

Im looking at going middle to higher end and have Rays, BBS on my radar and now have ADV1 and Wedssport on there too.

What is the deal with Wedssport? They are pretty inexpensive here in NZ. Are they a knockoff or the real deal? Nice looking wheels but Im not interested in replica's.

The car will be a weekend track day and back country blaster so looking for quality but not looking to drop wads of cash on wheels better suited to a $100K car.

Welcome!

ADV1's are VERY expensive...RAYS and BBS would be a BARGAIN compared to them..=p You could probably get almost a full set of wedsports for the price of ONE ADV1 RIM

Dont' get me wrong, ADV1s concept of a "custom" wheel is awesome..but the largest draw to that type of wheel is to have the EXACT offset you want, or to have custom wheels for a car with a strange/uncommon bolt patterns. As far as their Actual Styles, you Choose from pre-determined styles and finishes.

Thanks, I appreciate the quick turnaround. Being in NZ, we get slammed on some things price wise, for example a set of Work Meisters will run $6K for a set and Volk RE30's about the same money.

What do you pay stateside?

Wedssports by comparison are pretty inexpensive here.

I've asked ADV1 for an indication so that we're not wasting each others time. My budget is NZD$4K for wheels and tires.

Thanks

Might have been posted in this thread already, but if I decide to get a second set of wheels for summer, I'm getting these:

RPF1...nuff said

well...RPF1's in 17x8 in front, 17x9 in rear
the problem is finding a decent offset in 5x100
i hate seeing a concave rear face matched up with a convex front face
...but that's just me

Adv1 gave me some indications on the email this morning, more great service.

ADV10 TF $4900 rrp
ADV10 TS $9548 rrp

Wow

My dealer is offering wholesale in return for some promo but with exchange and freight it's looking a weeeeee bit out of my budget. Props to Carlos at adv1 though, he's been a fantastic representative of the company.

It's not over til the fat lady sings though.

Seriously, I can't think of any other wheel I'd rather have. This really is a case of form following function. If you make design it to be light, you can't help but have a nice looking wheel. The K1 racings were schnazzy too.
