When too much is too much (camber)

I just put on my new wheels. 17x9 and now notice the camber. Only 3/4 of the tire touches the ground. Looks like the same amount of tire that touched with the 215. Haa has. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1445518216.665870.jpg

Size: 302.3 KBI'm at maybe 3 degrees. The car just doesn't feel as planted as I would expect running the new wheel setup over stock. Is this amount of camber hurting me on the street? Where is a good degree? I think I have gone past the point of diminishing returns....

3 degrees in the rear is a lot for just street duty.

If you look at the track threads you'll see most of the recommendations are less than that.

For street use, yeah, 3° static is a little much. Especially in the rear where you have a not-crappy camber curve.

I run 2deg on street in front and rear. Just depends on your needs and how much money/effort you want to put into correcting it. If you can dial it in, I agree with @vroom4

Is this perception because the car has a tendency to not stay straight on some roads? It may be caused by your tires + the increased camber, causing tramlining.

Thanks. The good thing is that did spend the money up front to have front camber plates and the rear LCA adjustment. Just need to spend some time under the car this weekend.

From what I've been reading and what I've seen on many FR-S'/BRZ's, anything past -2* in the rear is just too much for street/autocross duty. I'd run the fronts at -2* and keep the rear at -1.7*, depending on your suspension setup and whether you have aftermarket sway bars and endlinks.

EDIT: It may take two-three alignments to find the perfect balance for your car and driving habits/expectations out of the car.
