I don't see why he would want to. He has spent the whole time he has been with Merc developing and driving a low rake long wheelbase car. I don't think the edgy nature of the RB suits his driving style. The nature of the RB car is why guys like Albon and Gasly could never consistently tame it, kind of like how Vettel struggled this year with the Ferrari. I think Checo's experience will make him more consistent than Max's previous teammates and the only two guys that could put that car consistently on par with Max is Danny and Charles.

As ToTo has confirmed he will be staying for a few more years (3yr). WooF, Merc & HAM are the key package for this teams past & continued Success/Domination. Would take some unnatural argument to come between that. The sponsors also want that team to persist.

Ooof. 3 more years. I always figured he was a “race till I have nothing left to prove” guy and not a “race as long as I am able” driver.

I think 2022 is going to be a bit of a shock though. Hamilton is an excellent driver no doubt, but I'm fairly certain that Mercedes would still have been pretty dominant with other drivers. New regs might shake that up.

Ham needs to watch out for that new guy whoever he’s called Alfonso, Alonzo something like that. He was top of the new drivers testing this week and looks to be of championship stuff in the making!

I hope so. We certainly saw how dominant the W11 was when Russel filled in and drove a car he could barely fit in. There is no doubt he is talented but that car as few faults.
