IIRC, Cusco stuff is made by Showa, although that may be different in this case. Quality stuff, albeit expensive.

Eek....didn't mean to stir up all these demands by referencing that list.

People, it was just a compilation of suspension he's ridden on.

But what I WANT to see is a comparison of springs on stock struts so I can make the right choice. Basically that means I want to see data to back up my decision to get RCE Yellows.

The only way I can do a true comparison, is to drive all the cars back to back with the same tire and the ideal alignment for each given setup. Even then, my personal bias toward a truly neutral system (which most people perceive as loose) will come into play...

From a "having it right out of the box" standpoint, two way adjustable coilovers are more forgiving. With a one way adjustable system, you only have one "right" spring rate for the compression that's in the damper, and one or two "right" rebound settings. The rest of the settings are just wrong, and shouldn't be used. If you change spring rates, then the compression damping will just never be matched. With a two way adjustable damper, you can swap springs for softer or harder rates, and then adjust both compression and rebound to match the spring.

Of course, the above is highly idealized, and not everyone has access to a shop or individual who can either dial in their dampers for them, or guide them to the right settings.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised that this thread didn't turn into a massive sh*tstorm.

Please supply us with all the suspensions you wanted tested, an appropriate number of cars to put them on, staff to do the installations, recommended alignment settings, and rims/tires for each car.

LOL.

Then again, I should be careful what i wish for... Scion, are you listening?

I personally like a more compliant (read: softer) setup--as I'm getting my $$ worth out of my hi-po tires, and getting a real feel what the car wants to do.

But let's be real: many that have these C/O setups will never see the track, and if they do, not truly driven @ 10/10ths.

The dampers I have (MCS) weren't one that you sampled--but I'd venture to say (with appropriate spring rates) you'd really like them.

I've been curious about MCS too, but I suspect I'd approve

Which dampers are you on?
