You mean like this?
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYNRCfT_Pkg"]Pompous A-hole in a GT3 - YouTube[/ame]

That guy was running 2:15, and I run 2:06, but he refused to point me by. Don't let the wide-angle video fool you. I was riding as close to the guy as I could through the corners to make sure he knew I was there. It's sad I have multiple videos of different people acting this way.

Unfortunately, this is a common issue regardless of what group you run with. I have seen TMR deal with guys like this and they fight back and deny doing anything wrong. HOD and TMR try their best to stop this kind of garbage, but it still seeps through. TMR does have communication issues through email. Thankfully they now have a better online website

Supposedly this kind of behavior is almost nonexistant with CFRA because they are very strict.

I've also found it to be less of an issue with NCRC because they actually vet people and sign people off. When I moved to open group, they first had someone ride a few laps with me to 'approve' my move. This was greatly appreciated.

I've been doing HPDEs for the last 10 years or so. Some of the clubs I've gone with and my honest opinions that I'm sure some will disagree with:
NCRC: Good overall experience but can be hit and miss (maybe due to the low price?).
TMR: I didn't have a good experience with this. They didn't respond to pre-event e-mails and complaints regarding lack of point-bys (on track) seem to go ignored.
CFRA and PDC: Good clubs but by referral only.
Speed Ventures: Done events with them at Buttonwillow and been happy.
Grip Drift Skip: I did one event with them. Went okay but it was limited track time due to the short sessions and people going off.
GG Lotus Club: Lots of track time but not for the beginner.
HOD: Expensive but good for the novice who needs more introduction to the hobby.
BMWCCA: Similar to the HOD model, expensive but good for the novice who needs more hand holding.
TEAM Racing: loved them but Bonni closed shop.
well hello fellow TEAM Racing track buddy. yeah sad that Bonni shut it down too, they put on great events. excellent first post.

Yeah, I had a very similar experience with TMR. I was in my Miata at the time and there was an older 911 that would accelerate away on every straight. I eventually gave up and went to the hot pits to reenter.

As you said, by referral clubs such as CFRA and PDC are much better about this. Since it's the same fellow members going to the events, you naturally are more courteous to others.

Thanks. Didn't we initially meet at Thunderhill back in 2002 or something? You in the MR2 and I had my S2000 back then.

Pretty disappointing that other "driving enthusiasts" act that way.

is there more than one solo group? I haven't received my packet yet... hopefully this week.

Already started practicing/reacquainting myself with the course on GT5.
I only drove LS once, like 10 years ago.

Yeah there's solo yellow and solo green I'm guessing if you guys haven't been there before you will be in the yellow group.

Nice I'm jealous. I'm planning on going the season on stock suspension but will definitely seek out robi's expertise when I'm ready.

I made the mistake of riding in a 2 KW VIII equiped 86 and one Tein SRC equiped 86....... night and day difference both in terms of comfort, smoothness and grip. Blew me away. Also blew my wallet away lol
