I came for the narwhal baconing (lolz how many redditors are among us anyways) and stayed to show my support. Stay strong, and I hope you Subaru dealership has your car back to almost-new soon.

Here's a pre-accident pic of my BRZ.

I've been trying to come up with a good name for the car, but so far everyone's just been calling it "The GAX" because of the license plate...

Don't worry bro, it was probably from many factors at once, high blood pressure, sudden shock, nerves, fear, anxiety. Just chillax, everything is going to be fixed soon enough, and you'll still have one of the coolest cars of the decade! You'll be laughing about it in a few months

EDIT: LOL at the tags

Damn , that heart my heart. Especially so since it's WRB and I'm waiting on mine.

Question: What was that kid thinking when you took a picture of him? It made me lol that you snapped a photo. If I were you I would have smashed the cello over his face and said it was damaged in the accident. They might ask why it's bloodied though.

BTW glad you didn't get injured.

Son of a BI***! I'm sorry to hear about this...

Does New York allow for diminished value claims?

The kid obviously had no idea what was going on. The first thing he did was to call his parents and have them race over. They wanted to go out of insurance, which made me lol.

It was my first accident ever as well, so I had no idea what to do except to take pictures of everything. I thought for the sake of the story I better have a picture of him as well.

It's my personal belief that anyone who trades in their car instead of selling on their own is wasting lots of money. Two different sales people offered me $400 trade in for my '91 Celica GTS. I sold it on my own for $1600.

You were hit on the opposite side of your engine. That will help significantly if you decide to sell.

Wow, sorry to hear about your accident, that's gotta suck so bad, it's painful to even look at the pictures
At least nobody was hurt, cars can always be fixed.

Shit like this makes me wish there was some law against smoking while driving too. I still see dumbasses talking on phones and texting while driving, the last thing I need is some idiot hitting me because he was smoking.

I guess it can also come down to defensive driving,
for example I try to keep extra space on the road being aware what cars are
next to me so I can slip out in a moments noticed,
I try to drive in the center lane, I pass older people who drive slower,
mini vans, and basically any vehicle which looks like its not being well taken
care of can present a danger to my vehicle.

I am just super OCD paranoid, I always park far away from other cars as well
to avoid dings n scratches.

I'm the same way. Extra space is the only reason I didn't hit the car in front of me. I park(ed) my BRZ in the corner of every lot as well. He was slowing down and the accident happened so slowly that I thought he was just tailgating me.

The words that left my mouth were, "You gotta be kidd*CRUNCH*"

Well, since he hit you his insurance will cover it ( if he got it)
and from the picture I am not sure if the frame is dmg , but the bumper
and lower piece will need to be replaced.

The dmg is heart breaking , like every night I lurk the forum and watch youtube for the BRZ. : /
