I want an FRS that is more or less reliable ( I understand things are bound to break ) But I also want it to have roughly 400-450 horse power. I realize this may seem like an arbitrary number and I suppose I do not have a great reason for justifying it. But I know I don't really need any more than that for how light the car is.

Long story short, a most daily driven vehicle that I can take to the track for some fun. (Yes I know it handles well already at the track, but everyone loves that acceleration)

Thanks for the question!
Thanks for getting back to us.

I'll beat ol @Spuds to a suggestion.

I suggest you first get your 86, get it broke in and then take it for a few spins around a track.

You may be surprised at it capabilities right out of the box.

This will give you a good idea of what it "needs" for you to have more fun driving it. I would suggest, for starters, some different tires for track use.

OK, now we will "release the experts" .......

Just rich. The Jeep seems to have been built for him (or at least he seems to have shipped it off to enough places).

I'm sure it has 400 to 450 hp.

All do respect you do not know anything about me. I'm not rich, I'm getting my degree in May, and I really don't see what is so unrealistic here. If you could provide some actually useful criticism I would appreciate it! Thanks for your opinion I suppose. If you'd like to look me up on my instagram I posted in the original comment and DM me to discuss how I'm not fake I'd love to.

Just trying to get some information here bud

I think you're looking at the wrong car TBH. Yes people have reached those power levels, based on what I have read, they have not been reliable. Then as others have said, for the cost it would take to make that power, you could get a car that already comes with that power from the factory (i.e. your reliability)

My 2 cents? Drive down to your local chevy dealer, buy an SS 1LE and call it a day. It's exactly what you're looking for.

Two seconds research would have taught you that 400 to 450 hp is unrealistic unless a full face application.

Getting your degree. I read young.

My advice is very sound.

Thanks for the help.

You're probably right, I shouldn't let these other great builds let me jump the gun on major engine rework! Just trying to get some input on what are some good "non engine" components that would be good "buy right the first time" upgrades!

Have a great one!

Thanks for the input man, I guess I really like the look of the car. But you've got a great point
