I should have logs of them before, and I should be able to get some after.

update:
Comparing logs from April of last year with the stock manifold my intake temperatures were around 33C tapering down to around ambient towards redline which was about 25C.
My logs I did yesterday, post install are almost identical. 34C tapering down to 24-25C towards redline.

This doesn't look like a remotely fair comparison to any of the UEL's on the market. I'm not surprised, though.

Do you recall off the top of your head the ballpark of the surface temps? Sounds like you were running 30f cooler on the outside surface of the intake which is a good indicator things in general are cooler. If other surface measurements were also cooler I have my answer. Thanks for actually taking measurements instead of a knee jerk reaction.

Man, you guys are worrying about the wrong thing. Seriously, this thing isn't going to heat your shit up by any amount that will be detrimental, and even if it does, it would only do so when in heavy traffic.

I didn't actually test anything else, but I think I looked at my Perrin LWCP and it was right around 200 degrees after just sitting in my driveway idling for 10 minutes or so.

I'm sure its not a big deal when everything has air moving across it, but just sitting there everything is going to get hot.

Indeed. Just the radiator fans at idle had like a 30 degree impact on the header tube temps. Side in the air flow was significantly cooler than the other side. The fans and air from movement should actually keep temps well in check in my opinion. I know I kicked a hornets nest by daring to question which type of ceramic coating was being used. I'm simply curious why folks with coated headers were expressing so much concern. Perhaps the reason they are more vocal is the very reason they opted for coating to begin with. Just made me wonder if the coating was intended purely for flow at the potential expense of more radiation. So I asked and took some measurements. I very much hope and expect it to be a proper thermal barrier. I just want to know for certain. I'd still like to see a surface temp reading on the actual header at its highest point nearest the intake. Hopefully it is well below 200F.

I want to say it was around 190 on mine yesterday (uncoated). i'll test again this weekend.

Just for clear comparison I let mine idle for 10 min with the hood shut after I'd driven for an hour. Ten minutes should be plenty of time for things to normalize from a cold start or a highway drive I would think. Opened the good and took a bunch of measurements as quickly as I could with it still running. It was in the high 60s to low 70s.

I wouldn't be concerned about anything temperature wise if you guys are coated. daily driving and sitting in traffic these headers are awesome, quick cool downs, intake box dosent get hot, etc. I am just concerned about back to back autocross/track runs that would require me to get some protection under the intake box to keep the IATs normal, thats all.

But I guess the numbers and data are good for references.

If I were concerned I would have gone coated. I'm just curious

Anyone know of a dynojet (actually since I'm starting with a baseline it does not have to be a dynojet) in or near Irvine Ca?

I need to baseline my current setup before installing and tuning the nameless header. I will also post in SoCal sub forum, but since this is related to the Nameless header....
