Your stock tires will fit well enough on this rim, so I would reuse those as you suggest.

But the 245/45R17's will be too tall. They will fit on the wheel and not rub anywhere, but the taller diameter will give you slower acceleration, which is not a great thing on our cars.
Thanks man, much appreciated!

Would I be better off going with +25 in the rear or + 25 all around?

Don't want the front poking out too much, but also don't want the back sitting in too much.

Hey Neeko,
@Osiris has the exact setup you're asking about. A 1-1.5" drop will round this out nicely.

Here are the details:

Wheels
XXR 527's in Bronze
17x8.25 +35 (he paid $560 incl shipping)

Tires
Stock Michelin Primacy's
215/45/17

Suspension

Stock

Good luck with the build man!

I was going to go with a staggered setup and 1" larger in diameter in the rear, but decided to go square instead.

I'm looking at picking up a set of XXR 527's in the following---> 17x8.25 5x100 +35

I plan on dropping about 1-1.5".. Will this be a fairly flush set up? I've seen 17x8 on the table chart with a +35 and a 1" drop and it looks good but the extra ".25" has me a bit confused. If I'm correct.. that means an extra 6.35mm.. does that affect the outcome of where the wheels will sit?

I'm losing my hair over here and just want to order these dang things already but don't want to get stuck with something I wont be happy with.. please and thanks to anyone who might be able to help me out here...

also, I plan on reusing the original tires just to wear them out, but plan on using a set of bridgestone potenzas from my moms last car, which are 245/45/17, will these fit as well?

I am about to get XXR 527 18x9.75 +20

What kind of tire is best suited for this setup? I was thinking 215/40/18 or 225/40/18 or 225/35/18, I like a lot of rim poke but i'm not sure what I will have to do to make this work. I have Stance coils and LCA's. Will I have to roll my fenders or add camber or both?

Stick to +35. As shown in the pics it looks pretty good, not tucked in much.

That's pretty damn aggressive. You will need camber and more.
Not enough experience with these sizes, but this thread should help you:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25171

The ideal tire for that size rim is a 285/30R18, but it seems like you are looking for a super-stretch with those narrow sizes you stated.

Maybe someone else can chime in.

Good Luck!

You should be able to fit up to a 245/35R18 tire without rubbing.
Thanks for the helpful tip. Sorry if my questions make me sound like a newbie because honestly, I am new to the tuning scene so I appreciate your help. :happy0180:

So with my wheels at 18x8.5 +33 squared, would this fit fine on my stock suspensions and with no poke? Would it increase the gap at all? I know a lot of people have wider tires in the rear for performance reasons, but is it uncommon to go same tire specs all around? The main reason I went with a squared setup was so that I can do tire rotations to extend the life of my tires. If so, what are good tires specs for my setup? This is going to be my DD that will be driven spiritedly, but rarely tracked.

The other reason I went with the 8.5 over the 9.5 is because I wasn't a fan of the concave look. This is pretty much how I want my car to end up looking.

Hi Guys,

A total newbie here. Have been thinking to upgrade my wheel to prodrive gc-05n but worry about the fitment and scrubbing that may cost me more in the end. I wanted to buy 18"x9.5" +44 for all but willing to change the front to 18"x8.5" +44 if there is any issue. I have No intention to increase overall diameter neither want to drop, adjust camber, install spacer and etc.. So my question is simple:
Will the front wheel scrub during turning with 9.5"? And will the wheel stay within the guard, not protruding out the body?

Thanks a lot.

18x9.5+44 will not fit in the front on stock suspension, absolutely no way. So since you dont want to adjust anything, get the 18x8.5 +44.

In the rear it will be close but likely no major issues.

There are some wheels on craigslist,
they're 18" Rays Arthur Exchange style-me 18x8 +37 and 18x9 +37 5x114.3

What spacers would I need for it to fit? Would it be flush?
My car isn't lowered at the moment and want to lower it before I put the wheels on it. Should I go with coil overs or get some rce yellows?

Thanks in advance!

oh and the tires are yokohoma s-drives 225/40 and 245/35

Wrong bolt pattern (P.C.D.). The 86 is 5x100 NOT 5x114. Otherwise fitment is close to flush.

S-drive are an excellent tire.

Rce or coilovers is your decision. If you don't need coilovers just get springs.

Could I just convert the 5x100 to 5x114.3 using http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm...ICS-CONVERSION ? I know some people don't like it because it may put extra stress but I'm not really tracking or anything so..

The adapter is 15mm, your wheels are going to poke big time if you go that route.

Buy wheels that are the right PCD
