On the other news, what do you guys think about this whole "monogram" series stuff?

I figured the 10 series would be leveled by the other RS' but this is too soon and sort of a slap in the face. At least wait until June '14 to do so like every other scion.

I see a 2016 IS in my future, sticking with this for 2 years. Still got the glow badge doh! Lmao

I guess many of you folks aren't use to scion but they put out tons of special editions all the time. I think the tC is now on 7 or 8 something like that but its done on a yearly basis to raise sales.

I had a tc1 first year and I had no regrets!

I'm starting to see a trend on the forum and it's bugging me. There is a pretty large amount of people who have already given up on their twin. I have seen about 10 different people parting out FI cars and talking about buying STI's and M3s and blah blah. Why would you buy a brand new car, put $10k or more in it and get rid of it in less than 1 year? Or some people who bought the car, didn't really do anything other than wheels and springs and they're bored with it and need something faster. Those people didn't even attempt to make their car faster. It doesn't take an astronomical amount of money to make this car perfectly acceptable in the power to weight ratio category. Or the I want a 10 Series, I want a BRZ STI, I want a Signature Series guys. Let me save you some time and money, you'll never be able to have the latest and greatest for longer than 6 months, the newness wears off, the honeymoon is over, that's when real car love happens, lol. Take it from me, I've owned 26 different cars in the past 10 years.

This is the generation of instant gratification, or what I like to call the IPhone generation. Vehicles are certainly not the only thing this sort of behavior applies to.

Anyone who doesn't get a smile the minute they sit down and start driving well then I am glad they are leaving. We don't need people like that around here anyways.

I’ll admit it’s a pointless pursuit, but in this situation I feel this was a bad move by Scion since the Monogram is a 10 series without the paint and badge (Leather seats). I’m still swapping this in a few for the IS350, but I will say this: I joined this forum because I’ve been obsessing over this car since the FT-HS and will never stop doing so.

Sad part is, 99% of the people whining about more power have never mastered handling the power they have. They know how to mash the gas a few seconds on the highway. Take the nannies off on the track and learn to control the power you have.

(Said from the guy building the forged LS3..... lol )

My BRZ will always be slow, and that's just fine. I've daily driven faster, it gets old. Yeah, you got to 65 in no time. Awesome. Now putt putt home after your 5 seconds on the gas, which burned a crapload of fuel. I went FROM STi's to slower cars

I don't think it's the "honeymoon" phase wearing off. I think it's the fact that these engines aren't holding up well in stock form and will more than likely have issues down the road after FI.

Who wants to buy a $30,000 ticking time bomb? I've already had one of those (2008 STI) and I'm considering getting rid of this newest one. Going to the dealership every other week is wearing me out.

You have a valid point, it's frustrating that you can't just boost it and not worry about it. But when you go FI on a car that didn't come that way, especially one that has a 12.5:1 compression ratio, it's always a risk. If warranty and longevity of the engine are important to you, FI may not be the route you want to go. When I decided to go turbo, I decided that my motor might blow up and I had to come to terms with that before I did it. In NA form, this car can be reliably quick. I personally think that anything south of 330hp is safe as long as the tune is proper and the car cared for properly.
