I think it was more of a "software" issue. The 718's we had where automatic, my assumption is that as I spun out on WOT the car panic'ed. I did find out that by resetting the battery, and some crazy key on key off combo would reset the transmission sensor. I guess that's why I didn't get hit with the insurance. I was freaking out, but they where not.

As for the 911 - That thing felt bullet proof and I hope to be able to get one later in life, its as much lux as a drivers car.

I imagine the 911 (less so in the 718) requires a lot more corner planning than our 86s as far as turning in earlier, hitting apexes, etc. Did you have to adjust your driving strategy much?
