More progress...

2nd mock-up panel cut and bent from a portion of the .177 thick ABS sheet... no cracking... I was happy about that. Minor adjustment noted.

Mock-up of hinge with 2nd template...

A view of the full 2nd template... I made note of some minor changes and I believe I will be bending the ABS in the next couple of days.

Clamping down the hinge into place...

Reinforcing the underside of the hinge...

Most of the holes drilled...Clecos in place... Mock-up panel also in place...

Holes countersunk...

Everything is coming together nicely... I'm pretty pumped!

Drilled out and countersunk my holes... originally I was going to put the panel on the outside of the hinge but that will not allow the door to lay flat when open... it shouldn't change my previous fitment too much.

before...

After...

I received the new Aluminum Coolant Overflow Tank from Mishimoto tonight! Man this thing is pretty! If you have ever seen my engine bay you'd understand why I can gets so excited about such a simple part. The OEM overflow tank is so out of place in my engine bay...it will only get worse as the white plastic yellows over time. Cant wait to install it!

Fitment is really good! I still have a few things to adjust and secure but I'm feeling good about what will be the final product...

Another full view...

Formed foam support for the center of the panels...

I'm going to fab a bracket from this template so I can keep the rear supports from moving (mainly forward).

I found my fabric today! I had to drive 2.5 hours round trip to pick out up though. It is a suede but looks very close to the OEM alcantara. I would call it a 90-93% match.

Since I am installing Bride seats, the only alcantara in my interior to compare it against is located on my dash so the slight difference will not be easily discernable.

I did find a vinyl that looked a lot like the factory leather in color and texture but I wanted more contrast... so I stayed with the suede. I also purchased some batting.

I added a stabilizing bracket to my rear supports. They were solid from middle down but had some flex back to front on the top side... especially in the forward direction.

I want everything to fit securely with little to no slop so I fabricated a bracket from a template I made. I will most likely integrate the template into my rear support template so that it is all one piece.

Documenting my angles for my write-up later...

Bracket riveted on. Maybe four rivets were too many but it's not going to hurt anything...

Installed... rock solid from middle out which addressed my concern...
