Would there be anything to worry about with regards to the radiant heat given off by the can to the battery? Overheating the battery in the heat of summer on a track day could be bad.
My current catch can (closed loop Moroso, fed by the rear PCV) gets pretty hot after some spirited driving.

We have ran similar setups on Evos with lots of track time and no "overheating" of the battery whatsoever

can you show a cutaway or illustration of the catch mechanism? is it media? vortex based? what are you doing inside that will allow solids to drop in the air stream? I like the drain to sump function myself for my FI setup, I'd consider the VTA if I was NA-I think, right?.... can you offer your opinion or guidance for the FI crowd? thats alot of volume, btw

The can has a 3 internal baffles similar to the baffles you would find inside a OEM valve cover. One at the inlet ports one at near the middle and one at the upper portion of the can. They are staggered to catch oil yet allow the PCV gasses to flow freely. We have ran both VTA and Recalculated on tubro'd cars. We prefer the VTA as there is no chance of getting any oil back into the intake tract. Too much volume isnt a bad thing. Some high hp cars produce a lot of blow by on high boost.
This is a can we built for a local car. The car makes over 1300hp and filling up the previous smaller can. That has a -10 and -20 fittings/lines for reference |

I love it. I would definitely swap out my D3PE can for this one and a lightweight battery. Let me know when it is ready for purchase. I think I would like it in raw aluminum. I'm still loving your overpipe and frontpipe.

Great idea, I just entered the market for a catch can. What is the weight target for the production piece?

With the Battery being on the other side for JDM versions, will this be a simple flip to fit?

I've ran mine for well over 3 month. The only issue i've had is when the car was getting the AEM setup and it was on the dyno for quite a while in the "key on" position. I've also ran one in my Evo for years and never any problems. I do know others have had different experiences depending on climate, etc..
