I've attached a picture of my battery array and labelled "main positive", "main negative" and "starter negative" (for the starter battery's negative terminal). So where do I hook up leads/cables to either trickle charge or jump? Thanks!

Main negative main positive for a trickle charge. Not for a jump.

Is your led display off when you shut off the car? Meaning does it turn off automatically?

My LED display does turn on and off automatically, so I don't think that's what drained my battery. Thanks for the quick response Steve.

ESC quits around WOT

At throttle >= ~75% my ESC quits. I say it quits because there is a noticeable drop-off in torque and the voltage on my LED starts climbing. Partial boost still works great. At ~50% throttle the torque is there and voltage drops, but as soon as I throttle up to ~75% (guessing) no more torque and voltage climbs.

I'm using a fairly linear Procede map (as load and throttle increase so does boost) so I have no idea what is causing the behavior.

Has anyone encountered this before? Any theories? I can log some data if it'll help to see the conditions under which boost cuts out. Thanks.

The final two columns in your procede map need to be full power. You remapped your throttle didn't you?

You can also lower max throttle slightly.

I'll have to check my Procede map. Haven't messed with that stuff in almost 2 years. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll let you know how it goes.

Calibrated my throttle as per @KoolBRZ's instructions in the Procede thread (mine is now sitting at 170 - 890). With the pedal all the way down load is 92% and I'm in the 90 column on my map. But no change. I still have no boost up high (from the 70 column and up). I'll post my Procede map in the Procede forum.

Best way to Contact Rob?

What's the best way to contact Rob? Just PM @Robftss? Or does he have an email? Looks like the Phantom website isn't up any more.

I don't know the best way, but the way I would try involves some candles, and salt laid out in a pentagram, and drizzled with the blood of the innocent.

*edit, sorry if my reply got your hopes up, It hasn't worked for me yet either. Maybe kids under 6 would be a better catalyst.

That's what I was afraid of. I've got an issue with my ESC (controller issue seems like) and I'm stuck until I can summon Rob. As good as the ESC is, given the experimental, one-man-show nature of the thing the downside comes when your unit eventually needs service.

I also wondered who is maintaining the list now Fenton is out...
I had asked to be put on the list but never heard back.
Still willing to take the chance that one day production might be enough that I have my chance to get one.
BUT, I know how dreams work in the real world...

I used to be in aviation (A&P mech) and during the last 45 years have seen many extraordinary / great planes that people designed and built and displayed thru the Experimental Aircraft Association and Sportplane community. Designer builders would attempt to produce kits for people to build their own (as per FAA regs described here for example https://www.eaa.org/en/eaa/aviation-...efore-building ) and some would take deposits of $2000.00 up to one kit which was $40,000.00 ... and about 95% of those people lost their money whe the developer just got out of their ability to go into production.
However, a lot DID succeed and today there are 50 or so kit planes that are actually in production. According to the 2017 June numbers there are 35,300 Experimental / Light sport planes flying and most of these were kit built.
So there IS hope the Phantom may "get off the ground" and everyone who wants one will be able to buy one but I / we have to be realistic too. At least we are not being asked to put down deposits.

However, I, as others have said here too, would put down a deposit of $500.00 in a heartbeat, even knowing the odds of eventually losing it!!!!

Sent a PM to Fenton the day he listed his but was too late. Maybe next time...

I just don't want a turbocharger. Right now I am grudging looking at other supercharger systems but they all don't do what I want. The Phantom does / will. Someone IS going to produce something like this, probably out of China, Ha Ha because the demand is there for lots of platforms, not just ours.

Send him an email. Rob doesn't usually reply to my pms, but he always replied to my emails in a day or less when I needed help. I had servicing done 2-3 times (round trip shipments) along with some additional components sent to me over the past 4 years. Always quickly resolved.

Email him

Just wanted to share the resolution to my issue (partial boost was working, but full boost wasn't). Rob thought it was being caused by drained dump batteries (full boost requires more voltage than partial) and suggested I charge them. I hooked up my dump batteries to a charger, but found them already fully-charged. As a last resort I ordered new dump batteries (mine WERE 2 years old -- maybe they weren't dumping all that well any more). If nothing else I could rule-out dump batteries as the cause. But as soon as the new batteries were in, full boost was back. Again, mine started failing right around the 2 year mark, so if you start to notice boost dropping off above 5K RPMs check your dump batteries.

Thanks to Sojhinn, Rob and TM for helping me find my way to the solution.

waiting list

If no one is taking care of the list besides Rob, I can volunteer to maintain it. I don't live in Calgary but do live 6 hours away in Regina. I don't have Rob's email address so I thought I would just put it out there.
