Hmm I just got this letter from the dealership.. opinons?
Letter came in wanting to buy back my car because of "used car" demands... I know it's a gimmick, I get the same letters for my previous Tiberon.
Anyway, it states they will give 20,855 (clean).. which is stock aside from aftermarket exhaust and intake. I'm actually considering it, got 29K miles.. and I'd like to get what the new cars (scion) or even BRZ have... HED headlight/fog lights/nav.. Funny though, wonder if I could sell the car higher... does 20,855 sound good for a '13 and 29K miles? * note after all taxes and everything.. the original car was around 30k.. of course I bought that stupid 1K warranty... |

Yeah its a sales gimmick. Depending on how hard you can haggle though... you never know.

I bought mine used 2013 asphalt 6spd in Dec 2013 for $20,500 + tax, tag, title. 4 months of ownership with 7,500 miles. With 5 axis spoiler, trunk mat, mudflaps, bespoke audio, factory tint, and N1 catback. So I would say ~21k is not a bad price for 30k miles imo.

It's a trap! I still get a lot of those for a car I ALREADY sold.

Someone at Toyota/Subaru is a genius, and has taken a page from the Apple marketing manual. Sell the same f-ing car, over and over again.

I sold my 2005 Civic Si 6 years ago and I still get letters from Honda saying they want to buy it from me since it's a car "We're looking for"...
I'd say go to your dealer, low ball the hell out of a new one and then ask premium dollar for yours and see how serious they are. |

The idea is to have you buy another used car. It's a good deal for them. They keep you with payments longer, more money in their pocket.

Seems great on the surface but its no different from leasing a brand new car every 2-3 years, they want to hook you on payments forever.
You took the hit of buying one new car with the depreciation, do you really want to toss another 2-3k out the window just for the latest model? Also: do people actually like the touch screens that come in these cars? Most reviewers complain about small hard to hit buttons and awkward interfaces, most owners have their minds somewhere else. I love the physical buttons on mine. |

The only thing I really hate is, they'll let you fuck around with the EQ, bar by bar, but not let you put an address in to the GPS while driving. |

I knew I didn't want the touch screen, but the option was on the car, so I had to take it as is. I honestly despise this head unit. The touchscreen is bad enough, having to look down to do anything when I used to be able to do it all by feel. But the shuffle algorithm is so bad, I have to look down after just about every song, spend time switching from random/random folder/normal just so it won't repeat the same list it played the last time I got in the car, then FF to next song after next song, while watching the song list so I can jump ahead when I see it is a repeat. Basically I spend more time looking at that screen than I do the road. I am hesitant to spend $150 and splice in a single din aftermarket radio because I don't know how it will work with our 6?/8? speaker setup, just to fix this +$1000 pos! /rant. |

First they screw you over when you buy a new car. Now they want to screw you over for buying the said car from you.
