Perrin or Invidia Catted Front Pipe?

When I get my FR-S in on order, I am going to slap some pipes on. My exhaust will be the ft86 speedfactory catback. I will also get the Perrin overpipe. My question is whether to get the Invidia or Perrin catted front pipe? The Invidia is about 60 bucks more, but that doesn't really matter. What would you guys do? Would I be better off saving 200 bucks and getting the Invidia resonated front pipe w/ no cat? I don't want drone so I want something there to tame the sound. Any and all opinions are appreciated.

Catless sounds like crap regardless if it is cheaper. Get the cat, and make sure you're getting at least a 2.5" system. Most of those front pipes are all the same to be honest. I'm a fan of Nameless' Downpipe which combines the overpipe and front pipe into one piece, no harsh bends. Most of the overpipes and front pipes all look the same, but the weld quality will vary between brands.

So is the downpipe a better deal? I've heard those may have drone issues.

And if it is a good deal, that means I could use the extra money to buy some headers

Don't go catless you won't like dealing with the smell. I have a full Perrin headerback and couldn't be happier. Perrin does a lot of R&D and this isn't their first platform car in the game. Their products are solid and they stand behind them.

Can't say anything about Invidia because once I found Perrin I'm sticking to them. Quality like no other.

Yeah catless is out of the question. But that catted downpipe is compelling.

Invidia catted is way overpriced when you can get Perrin or Motiv HFC's for less.

Not that I've heard of. Everyone that put on the Nameless downpipe that I've seen post about it really likes theirs. It's different from the others out there. They just combined both pieces into one and turned the overpipe into what they call a downpipe. The AT one fits the stock overpipe while the MT one actually has an extra piece that replaces the factory overpipe.

Perrin, Motiv, Nameless are 3 great front pipe/overpipe solutions you can't go wrong with. They'll all produce similar gains. If you can get a good deal on one of those 3.

Great choice on the V1 btw. FT-86 Speedfactory is a top vendor on these forums and provide outstanding service. I liked the videos and the looks of the V1.

Heh, two Jareds on here with Perrin headerbacks. Really can't go wrong with the Perrin front pipe, the construction is really top notch and warrantied against defects for 5 years. Alternatively, you can get a downpipe from Nameless and kill two birds with one stone for less than the cost of a separate over and front pipe, also one less gasket to worry about.

Man, now you guys have me really considering the Nameless. I love how it is the same price as one Perrin piece, but I have learned in the past that you get what you pay for. I also like how the V1 exhaust sounds with the invidia and Perrin pipes. Hmmm, decisions decisions. If I save that much with the Nameless, then I can get headers. Maybe Jeremy from @FT-86 SpeedFactory can chime in with his thoughts.

Just what I wanted, more options haha.

Does anyone know if I will have any CEL problems with headers and the catted downpipe?
