FR-S vs BRZ, the practical aspects

I have made a list of pros and cons of both...

FR-S pros:
-will become much more readily available in the future, lowering price below MSRP
-sold in Toyota dealerships, easier to find one of those and get it serviced
-cheaper
-if you believe the car magazines the suspension is more "sporty"

FR-S cons:
-sold by Toyota dealers, I have owned several Toyotas in the past... they're not the friendly sort
-budget interior compared to BRZ
-subjectively I prefer the BRZ's looks
-Scion dealers claim they won't haggle the BS "pure price" so getting one cheap may be challenging

BRZ pros:
-looks better (to me)
-more neutral handling characteristics (according to car magazines) make for a better DD
-comfier (I have put my ass into both cars, this is not subjective to me)
-better interior (also not subjective to me)
-sold by Subaru dealers, which around these parts are less mean

BRZ cons:
-hard to find, more likely to be marked up, harder to order. Subaru claims a "limited supply"
-more expensive, BUT comes with more stuff...

In the end it comes down to if I want to spend 25 grand of 28 grand for a car I think is worth more in the 22-23 range. I think I'd like the Subaru more because I like sitting in it more. But for the price it doesn't have enough under the hood and I keep coming back to the FR-S... Ultimately I think availability will make the decision for me.

Sorry to hear that your part of Florida doesnt have many subie dealerships; they are a dime a dozen in NE. Also, I think these cars will be much better serviced by Subie techs.

This is what I think:

BRZ Pros:

Better headlight design
HID's
Better fog lights
Factory navigation
Subaru name
Less availability (good for uniqueness)

FR-S Pros:

Cheaper
Better front bumper
More availability

Garage
Subie Pros:
The car is always smiling at you
Fog lights
Better interior (switches, climate control, etc.)
Good navigation
Feeling of maturity

Subie Cons:
Price
Its not a Toyota
Its not an 86
Availability
The car is always smiling at you

Scion Pros:
Price
Styling
Toyota-Servicable
everything else

Scion Cons:
Scion Badge
Its not an 86
Its not a Toyota
BeSpoke system instead of an iPhone and Android friendly unit which allows you to use your phones google maps/navigation

haha just playing around but i know some people out there agree an 86 would be a better first choice then both Scion and Subie...
