Wilwood parts combination similar to Sprint Kit
I've been searching for a budget brake upgrade with enough heat capacity and long pad life for track usage. I don't think big sized rotor is required to our applications, especially for my 16-inch wheel setup.
I've checked @diss7 's fitment checking thread and am sure that my SSR Type C 16x7.5 +35 will fit Sprint Kit. But after noticing AP 8350 caliper is almost same form factor as Wilwood SL4R/SL6R, I'm thinking about combining Wilwood parts to make a similar brake as Sprint Kit. What do you think? Disc rotor : 160-11837 (R/H), 160-11838 (L/H), 11.75x1.25, 129.59$ each, 259.18$ total (parts changed) Hat : 170-9206 (offset 1.1") 134.93$ each, 269.86$ total (offset is not fixed yet. have to calculate.) Caliper : 120-13231 (Forged Superlite 4R), 248.34$ each, 496.68$ total Pad : typical 7420 Bracket : 250-9208 (WRX BBK bracket), 147.32$ each, 294.64$ total (may require shortening 3mm) Last edited by makinen; 11-02-2014 at 11:32 AM. |

But 317mm rotors are too big to 16" wheels. |

You're looking at rear use rotors that aren't made to take the abuse and heat of track use in front (at least on a grip car)
You should be looking at the GT rotors: http://www.wilwood.com/Rotors/RotorP...emno=160-11837 http://www.wilwood.com/Rotors/RotorP...emno=160-11838 |

I'm not familiar with Wilwood parts, so this kind of information is very useful. |

I am going to follow this closely. I am currently running a half DIY wilwood kit for a WRX. I am running into issues with the Calipers flexing, and getting air in the calipers that I cannot account for. I have sealed all the lines and I am not leaking any fluid. I also want a lighter rotor than the STI rotors it currently uses.
