How long would you expect these to last with mostly daily driving?

MIchellin tires are safer after the tread wears down than almost any, or maybe any, other tire. Safer in wet weather. Dry weather it does not matter the wear level of a tire within reason. The pilot sport style sounds like something I would get when the primacy's wear out.

HOwever, the car gets great gas mileage from the hp primacies. I also posit that the reduced friction is good for top speed. The car has only 205 hp and near 160 torque. Having something with less drag on the top end should equate to something on such a car. It might be my imagination, but it has to do something. Less friction is meaningful if one doesnt have a WRX muscle type car.

I experienced the exact opposite of his claim and spun out on worn MPSS to the point where they still had life in them and I got rid of them before they killed me.

The Conti's are awesome.
I had them on my old 06 Corolla XRS (ironically they also came with Primacy summers back then). Yeah they're softer and more comfortable because of it (you could pump in a bit more air pressure to stiffen them up some) they grip well and are good in the wet stuff. I had the DWS version and its snow handling was terrific for an A/S tire.

I actually use the DWS 06 on my X1 right now (I live in a snowy city, and my BMW came with summer run flats so I needed something to deal with snow).

because that is what they advertise and how they justify their idiotic cost, so it must be true.

BFG sport compact 2 A/S was 95 a tire and is great for year round. The summer one is good as well but not as cheap. I have conti summers on my WRX, sidewall is very soft but the ride is nice.

What kind of road/driving did this happen in? Alignment? Traction nannies on/off?

Both in rain and no rain and nannies were always off. Toward the end of when I had them, I actually started driving with the nannies on even if it was dry out since the car was getting sketchy if I made a hard turn. MPSS tire issue can't be blamed on turning off the nannies though since the problem went away after changing to the tires. New tires with no nannies I can rush through a turn safely in pretty much all but very wet roads and only on a u-turn will it slip if I gun it. And then even then it is a controlled slide rather than the car just spinning. It takes a lot of effort to get the car to slide around now on a u-turn. In the dry the new tires are glued to the ground compared to the MPSS. I still drive with the nannies off all the time now, rain or no rain. Driving with them on it is constantly interrupting mid-turn and taking control away from me.
