AutoZone seems to be always full, so I just go to Pep Boys. I'll be dumping 9 quarts of Amsoil (for some reason, that's what I've accumulated) later today.

Apartment hunting in the bay area/peninsula really kind of sucks.

Obviously the cost of rent is sky-high. But just getting into an apartment is a horrible experience too. You're expected to bring a bunch of paperwork, including past pay stubs just to fill out the application, and if you don't bring it they won't accept the application at all.

So today I checked out one place in particular. About 5 different people/couples were trying to get it, including me. I didn't have any pay stubs because the manager/agent never mentioned I would need them to apply. So of course I was probably the only person who couldn't apply right away, and it's first come first served, lol.

Not only that but I heard if you do get accepted, you only have 24 hours to accept or the unit goes back on the market. A few weeks ago I checked out a place on a Saturday and it was gone by Sunday night..

So you basically need to know exactly if you like a place and apply impulsively. No room to actually consider anything.

Paper pay stubs? Did they also want you to fax it to them, complete with cover sheet? Remember to dial 9 first.

You need to have the oil filter in a Ziploc bag and the oil in a specific container that you pick up from the waste management office off blanding and oak. Ask me how I know 😉

I had the oil filter ziplock bagged, but the oil was in regular quart bottles.

I guess because the oil was in the "wrong" container, they just decided to not touch the filter either.

Ya, it's kindof a PITA, but at least the service is available, unlike where I am now (but I do have a pep boys nearby). I used to show up and ask for a dozen or so of these gallon containers to make it worth while. It looked hilarious tossing em all in the back of the brz and filling up the back seats, like I have some sort of a milk problem lol

Meanwhile, Toyota has also brought out a limited-edition hot hatch inspired by Toyota’s return to the World Rally Championship this year. The Yaris GRMN features a 1.8-liter engine pumping out 210 hp. Unfortunately, only 100 copies will be made and none are destined for the U.S

Walmart in Pleasanton takes recycled oil. Just drop it off on your way in by the tire center and let someone know at that register. Then you fill out a record book with your name, info, and quantity of oil
