not sure what to make of that, other than to say, check it regularly and keep an eye on it. As you probably know, the manufacturers will claim a fairly large amount of oil disappearing is still considered "normal".

Yup, watching the oil levels like a hawk now.

TL;DR: HOD is an excellent organization to run with. It's expensive but you get what you pay for as the staff is extremely organized, dedicated to safety, and you get instructors provided if you're in a novice group. Oh, and free lunch and water!

Highly recommend HOD if you're just starting out.

Glad you had fun, and good choice on choosing HOD for your first track day! If possible, try to choose your next track days from the NorCal 86 Cup schedule. You won't be participating in the actual time attack yet, but it'll be good to learn about driving and car setup from other 86 drivers!

excellent point, any time you go out to an 86CUP event, you're virtually guaranteed to have other 86 folks around who can offer their experience, guidance, ride-alongs, advice, shade on a hot day, tools, and sometimes even a chair!

Next Laguna Seca event is in December! How about one of the Thunderhill events? There's a bunch of them coming up.

Oh yes! Thunderhill is much easier to get to since I can stay with family in Sacramento. No need to wake up at 3am to drive. 😨
