Anyone have specs on the turbo included in the T518Z setup?
I'm looking for wheel diameters, compressor and turbine A/R ratios. |

My car came with a TiAL Q50, but it wasn't opening fast enough or "blowing off" at lower boost levels. I changed springs to the absolute lightest one that would still keep the valve closed at idle (needed a bit of shimming) but it didn't solve the problem 100% So- In the end, I went to a Greddy FV style BOV which seemed to be a vastly superior design (response wise) for applications that don't need to support massive levels of airflow. According to TiAL tech suppoirt they are designed for 1000-1500HP applications. They told me flat out it was the wrong BOV for my application. Said to use a QRJ, which is designed for smaller applications like ours. Problem is - the QRJ isn't supported in Canada, so getting replacement springs would take forever. In the mean time, I checked out a Greddy FV on a friend's car, found it to be a far superior design for my application bought one and never looked back. Just be careful of counterfeits - or if you knowingly buy one make sure it's priced accordingly. If you go the QRJ route, be aware they use a completely different set of springs. And just like in the Q/QR you pick the spring rate according to the amount of vaccuum you pull at idle with all accessories off. Good luck - hope it all works out for you. |
