I always said that next time I buy a sports car I would buy new so when I saw the RS 2.0 brand new in the showroom I had to have it. I felt if I’m keeping it long term I wanted the satisfaction of knowing it was broken in properly and the money I would have saved wouldn’t matter as much in the 5-6 years of ownership. However, the new BRZ PP is enticing and if not for the depreciation of my RS 2.0 I would probably trade up. The RF is fun and I love the targa styling but I can’t justify the $35k price tag. Sticker price on the BRZ PP in S.Florida was around $27.5k and I figured I could get them to lower the price.
35k is MSRP, which I’ve never paid. The bbs/brembo package looks nice but almost 4K extra option. I personally like the GT wheels on black myself. There’s starting to be some very low mileage certified RF’s around country for 25-30k. Actually better warranty. Looking forward to test driving RF, BRZ, Abarth, 370z back to back next week! I’m not buying until summer but gonna have fun driving and I really hope I walk away with a firm decision on direction I’m going this summer or Christmas at latest.

Try hard to do these drives without a sales person. You really have to drive the FRS hard to fall in love with it. A casual drive with a nervous salesman will not get the job done. When I test drove mine I had my wife with me (who isn't the type that screams at me if I drive like a nut) so the salesperson let us go alone (no one wants to cram in the back seat). I left the lot like a normal person and then turned off TC/ASC (hold TC button for 5 secs). I was on a very dead 4 lane road with uncurbed median (so basically 5 lanes wide) and did a nice tail out uturn with total ease. No drama, no snap, no tank slapping. I drove right back to the dealer and worked a deal. Probably the shortest test drive ever. Got mine for 12,400. This is the cheapest car I've ever owned. Hahaha

Took my sales person for my test drive. She let out a little scream a couple of times but didn't make me stop driving like I was. The car we were in was a poor battered 13 that had just been traded in and had not been fixed up yet. It looked like somebody had run across the hood and roof, the rims were beat to hell ( I presume from bouncing off of curbs) the interior looked like it was 20 years old and all four tires were pretty much bald. There wasn't a thing that I could have done on a test drive to make it worse than when we started.

When I had my test drive the salesman was a middle eastern gentleman. About the 4th corner he says, "please slow down, this is a new car!" I said " don't worry, I'm taking it home with me. "

I personally don't think the 370z should be an option. The only thing the first 3 cars share with the 370z is their similar price and RWD. Having driven a 370z it feels a little like a fast moving brick.

Yep, I found that once I got past the agreement that only two pair of shoes per person are necessary ...... it was downhill from there.

What I would do with the Miata, was to give her three out of the five custom fitted bags and tell her that she can take anything she wants, as long as it would fit in those three bags. And I knew the bags would fit in the trunk ....

Honestly, it’s last on list and I’m beginning to agree with you.

I really wanted to like the 370Z but after a couple of test drives including the Nismo I just could not do it. The new Mustangs and Camaros had a better feel to them.

I like Mustangs, but there’s sooo many on road here. Wondering how manual Ecoboost drives? You can buy a brand new ‘18 manual Ecoboost with no frills here for 19,900 list.

Good luck getting that mileage in the real world.

If you plan to test it (if you haven't already), which I recommend you still do, drive it first, before the RF/BRZ. I'm sure you won't just take my word for it, but it holds a reputation as a poorly driving car for a very good reason, I mean there is worse, but it's more an after thought car to me.

Also, based on what a previous poster said, and you have mentioned, RF is what you looked at first and wanted first; a rule that I stand behind is go for what you really want, if the BRZ is a compromise, you will end up getting rid of it/not liking it as much as you should, and always wondering what the RF would've been like to own.
