Hey I know some people in the states got like free oil changes at their dealer. Any chances that it can happen here?

Can't you just get your guys at work to do at save some money? I paid $15 to one of the techs and supplied my own filter and got Mobil 1 at cost through work, simple and easy since I am there everyday anyway LOL.

I did my first 0W-20 Mobil change at 2000km at work, as long as you have receipts that show date, mileage, and parts used you don't have to do it at the Subaru dealer.
Not what I was told.
Their clause is "approved shop" has to do it for warranty to be valid.

I got free oil changes , or at least I thought I did.
I have the paper to prove it but the Toyota dealerships won't do it for free.

Legally as long as you can prove with receipts that it has been done with the correct oil and filter they HAVE to provide warranty.

I had a chat with my dealership (here in ont) last week about doing my ownoil changes and they were good with that provided I have the receipts from thefilter and oil. I would think that would be hard to argue with if I bought allthe stuff from their parts department.

From my understanding this is correct. They can try to convince you otherwise but so long as you have correct oil and filter with the receipt you are fine (also I'd recommend scrible the km's on the back when you do it for good record keeping anyways)

That being said I typically but in larger quantities rather than enough to do 1 oil change so its a bit more iffy.

That being said my last FR-S service was only 60$at the dealership so that isn't as bad as some of the other vehicles I've had in the past.

I got free oil and filter changes FOR LIFE (no joke) luckily, so I've been going with that! All I have to do is drive it there and drop it off.

Previously it was Sherwood park since I bought the car there but my last oil change before I sold the car was @ Stampede and it was ~60$.

Taking mine in for a 20,000 km service next week. Anyone else do this yet? It includes an oil change, but will be close to $500.00. Just an oil change @ Subaru is $92!! They must pay thier techs a higher per hour rate than toyota!
I also have free oil changes for life AND a service credit for a specific amount, but only because I feel they royaly screwed me when I bought the car and ended up having it out with the general manager. This was all they would "do for me" as I felt I was out more to the tune of $8000......but that's a long story, and happened over a year ago now.
Do any of you plan to keep taking it in for the "reccomended" service intervals?

Scion/Toyota only has 16000km and 24000km services listed. You may want to look at other shops to get this done, The service is oil change, checking all your filters, rotating tires, topping fluids and lubrication of hinges.. You could get all that done for like 150-250 max some where else

also the oil change at 92 is retarded. I buy oil , filter and crush washer from Subaru for like 54$ and do it myself.

It is definitely a good idea to get the maintenances done (even after the warranty is up), but they don't have to be done at the stealership. For comparison, I had my 20K done (no tire rotation) a while ago at Allmakes, and it was $236 (incl GST, etc.). Oil change with it added another $67. Most services done elsewhere cost roughly half what the stealership will charge, and given my experiences with Subaru, other places will also do a better job.
