How do they do it on cars like the GTR? Is that a separate computer that is native to the chassis?

Right but they are just programming a standalone to run it then right? I'm not arguing that you should do it for this chassis, I'm just curious now

From what I have seen, they communicate with the factory Transmission controller. Same for the BMW DCT Syvecs works with.

That is correct. The factory TCM is still utilized on the GTR when running Motec.

Are most Auto transmission controlled this way? How much do they have to talk to the ECU?

Seems to vary a bit. The FR-S transmission is controlled by the ECU, but Porsche (at least back in the 996 days) had a separate TCM (transmission control module).

We have the first finished harness. Still waiting on the first production oil pan before we can do anything else

What else is planned?

A reversible manifold is needed, but I think I have seen Skunk2 manifolds that are in a reversed position or designed to be in the opposite direction.

There are already k24 to s2000 transmission adapters.

Intakes are fairly universal.

We used the skunk 2 reversed. Only issue with it is that you have to use an electric water pump because of clearance with it reversed

Our header has been jigged up for production

Oil pan in in process again, after the last shop that was doing it for us vanished after 4 months of doing nothing

This harness should be the final. at this point we just need the oil pan so we can put the car back together in a running state to make the basemap file

Why doesn't the stock oil pan fit? Can you just do a quick and dirty "cut a chunk out and weld it back closed" kinda deal to get moving again?

the sub frame is in the way. and its not just a little, its a good bit. we had to take a large section out, box it in, then add more to the sides to get the oil volume back up. also requires a modified oil pickup tube. We are basically having oil pan flanges cut, and the whole pan has to be built from scratch

Maybe someone like Canton or Moroso would be able to make one for you, wouldn't be that different from what they already do.
