Just got mine yesterday, gonna get them installed on friday, or maybe next week.

I noticed the instructions suggest 1.25" drop in the front, i assume should be fine to do just 1" front and rear? Or is there some sort of bias I need to keep between front and rear?

Only reason i ask is because that extra quarter inch might be the difference between a little scrape and something much worse.

100% okay with a 1 inch drop front and rear. I might actually edit that. There's a range of acceptable values, and 1 inch front and rear is a great place to start.

I currently have Bilstein B14s. They handle big bumps well. However, I drive mostly city/street and I'm finding that at slower speeds / over older city roads, it’s a bit bouncy. (I'm lowered around 1.5" but might try to raise it / get a good alignment)

Anyway, how would you compare the B14s to RCE SS1? Would the ride quality with rebound adjustment make it an improved/smoother experience over the B14s?

I want get rid of bounciness and bring some better ride quality back to my setup, so I was thinking to go back to springs/shocks with RCE Yellows + ‘17 Sachs or Bilstein B6's.

The SS1s have more travel up front....with your Bilsteins at a 1.5 inch drop I'm not surprised your ride is a little firm. Raising them will help.

The Bilsteins are good. With the rebound adjuster on the SS1s, though, you have more control over how you want them to feel. The ride on the SS1s won't be bouncy at a 1.5 inch drop, you'll feel some of the bigger city bumps but it's still pretty good. Slightly better than the Bilsteins IMO. At a 1 inch drop, it's extremely awesome.

Gonna get these installed next week, is it really not ok to use camber bolts as per the instructions? Or is that just in case they slip?

We recommend using only the OEM bolts (including the OEM "crash" bolt) in the slotted upper hole. Don't use an eccentric in the upper hole.

That's good advice. I tried using camber bolts in my RCE T2's once and they slipped not long after getting an alignment. The OEM crash bolts have never slipped on me though.

Got my car aligned this morning. Ride heights are 13 5/8"-13 3/4" all round. I have oem front camber bolts and whitleline upper rear control arm bushings. Indexing the adjustment bolts on the rear control arm bushings and setting the thinnest part of the eccentric to the 12 o'clock position worked well. Only the passenger side rear camber had to be adjusted. I wasn't able to get as much negative camber out of the front right wheel, its been this way even before the coilovers.

With the camber plates at zero

Front
Camber L -2.34 R-2.10
Caster L5.41 R 4.79
Toe L0.00 R 0.02
Total toe 0.02

Rear
Camber L-2.24 R-2.22
Toe L0.04 R0.04
Total toe 0.08

With the camber plates maxed out I was able to get L-3.60 and R-3.26 degrees of camber up front. I'll back off the left camber plate to even out the camber when autoxing.

Now I'll put the car back into the garage for a few more months.

EDIT:
Gave my dad a ride in the car as we wanted to test out the snow capabilites of the car with his all seasons, it snowed last night into this morning. While I only got 1/2 up the packed snow / ice back road I did hit some of my regular driving roads. The composure of the car going over rough roads is so much better than stock. The stock suspension, especially the rear, would get very out of shape over broken pavement, large cracks and undulations in the road. The car sits quite nicely on the road now, the rear of the car always seems like it has even and predictable weight on it going over the rough stuff. In certain situations I can feel the increased spring rate but it has yet to be harsh or punishing. Haven't played with the shock settings, they are still at 16 clicks from full stiff front and rear.

Got mine installed today @ Racer's Line in Concord (thanks Neal!). I was his 2nd install for these coilovers. By the sound of it he does a lot of Tein installs. I asked him to get it to ~1 inch lower than stock.

So far very impressive. They came i believe 6 or 7 clicks from full stuff, and actually the drive home (~20 miles) was not bad at all. Only when i hit broken pavement in the city did i think it was too much.

Ended up i think adding 1 or 2 clicks of stiffness from the RCE street setting recommendations but im still playing with it. Currently it rides nicer than stock for sure especially on bad pavement. Better ride than stock and body roll eliminated = win! Hard to describe but bumps seem to affect the wheels more independently versus stock, whereas stock you get the whole car shaking and thumping on poor roads.

Also I haven't heard a single peep out of them, they are just as quiet as stock, even with the camber plates. Neal maxed the OEM crash bolts (luckily they came in time from the dealer) and got everything so i could drive it home with no wandering or tramlining. Not in a rush to get an alignment, even as is it drives great. I'll let it settle a bit.

Andrew you were bang on about front camber with crash bolts. I was maxed at -2.2 without touching the camber plates. I had the tech dial me in to -2.5 today by adjusting the camber plates. In retrospect would have been fine without touching them but figured i'd give them a try since i have camber plates.

I zero'd out my toe (i went from zero toe to negative toe after installation) and adjusted the rear LCAs to -2.0. Everything went smooth, I am still playing with the damper settings but for my driving and commute i am about 12 clicks from full stiff in the front and 15 from full stiff in the rear.

My only complaint is its hard to feel the "clicks" when adjusting, especially in the rear dampers, but i dont have enough experience with coilovers to know if this complaint is really warranted or not.

Overall i love the ride and lack of roll now. Big dips in the highway, yeah you'll feel the (what, almost triple?) spring rate but it's worlds better than just lowering springs (even mild drop ones like the RCE yellows). Camber plates are still quiet as a mouse, havent heard a thing from them yet. Seems to be a BIT more tire noise on bad pavement but it was always bad anyways in these cars.

All in all, bravo RCE and KW.

Patiently waiting (barely) for mine to arrive any day now...
Going right at the 1" drop - my current setup is .8" and I really don't want much lower than that. Can't wait - timing is perfect, as the season is just about starting in the Chicago area.

We're very frustrated with the recent delays, but this batch will be out to customers very soon!

I was told 2-3 weeks, which would put it this week-ish... Is there a further delay beyond that? I haven't heard anything beyond the 2-3 week claim via email/ordering/etc.
