STI tS fender garnish fix?

So i realized the garnish below will only fit the actual tS fender too because even if the current brz fender looks similar, its actually still different!! I saw a post before saying they just had to shave something off.. to make this STI garnish fit non tS fenders. any clues?

Pre restyling fender trims are different from post restyling... So there are 2015 and 2017 STi badges.

This actually isn’t the issue OP is referring to. For the kouki garnish badges, they’re made to fit the JDM garnish which has a version with a different fitment so that the badge sits flush. USDM kouki garnishes are flat. So for this badge you need to trim off as much as you can of the positioning pins and then use extra 3m to get a secure fit. But it won’t be 100% flush.

Hey spike! You mean if i shave these 2 pins entirely off, the adhesive that came with it should be enough to hold it in properly?

Shave them off, but then you'll also need extra 5lb (I believe, not sure if that's sold in the Philippines) foam 3m tape. I believe my friend and I did two layers cut to fit.

It still won't be completely flush, but it'll look and hold up fine. I've had a bunch of rainy/windy weather and driven highway speeds for about two months without problems.

Could you link to the tape you used? Also, how did you go about shaving them off? I just picked these up from FT86SF and need to get them installed.

Thanks!

A dremel tool with a cutoff wheel will suffice. Or cut them off with a pair of diagonal cutters and use a file to smooth down the nubs.

Double-sided tape: https://www.amazon.com/3M-3614-15/dp...ag=googhydr-20

Or any heavy-duty/ weather resistant double sided tape.

A little late but Just realized that someone else has posted what I was looking for.

Were you able to get done? I wanted to use these for my 2019 garnish.

Thanks
