Depending on the track layout and how long it is, chances are you will barely burn through a good set of tires with lots of tread on them. Get an SA2005/SA2010 helmet, just about every organized racing event requires them (aside from some of the smaller grassroots events) ZAMP makes one thats pretty popular for those not looking to spend a lot of money http://www.saferacer.com/zamp-racing...-racing-helmet. Expect to spin out a lot. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. Anyone whos driving at these events was in your shoes once, and I've never met a driver that did not have something nice/helpful to say at the events ive been to. If anyone talks shit, its usually someone sitting on the sidelines watching and think that because they watched the drift bible once they are experts, even though they have never actually drifted. It may take a few events to really get the hang of it, everyone is different. As long as you're having fun thats all that matters. Don't be afraid to ask for rides with a better driver and watch them, also don't be afraid to have someone ride with you and watch you and give you tips. OEM Fluids are fine. The only thing I run differently is I use Penzoil Platinum ultra for my oil.. |

Enjoy your first Clubfr DDay! Also don't be nervous everyone is very chill and friendly. If you need any help, there are several experienced drivers that will be able to give you some tips and pointers. Oem fluids should be fine! But I suggest Motul or Amsoil I suggest bringing a full set of spares. You will be starting off at the skid pad and that tends to eat tires the quickest but learning the basic fundamentals is a must! Also don't forget to pull your abs fuse! We do have some helmets in stock! Just stop by the shop and we'll be able to fit you as well! Touge Factory 2181 Foster Ave. Wheeling IL 60090 |

-find out of there will be tire changer there (probably will be). one extra pair should be fine, but id bring two to be safe. buying oem wheels is a waste unless you can find them for practically free with tires on craiglist, use tires and resell wheels for dirt cheap. -Definitely check in with @Touge Factory for helmet, fluids (I use Motul everything), and anything else you need. I know you're in the area but not sure if you've used them before. Seriously some of the nicest coolest people work there and they really know what they're doing. Everyone local supports the shop, and the shop supports the local drift scene, which is not typical with my experiences in other states. Their prices are very competitive as well. Also Mike at TF owns an FRS and hes great to talk to about setup and the order in which you should upgrade the car. As said, pull ABS fuse, doing anything else (pushing tc off button or pedal dance) is a waste of time. For your first day don't worry too much about figuring things out, just focus on getting to know your car and getting plently of seat time. The car is snappy from the factory, use the handbrake to slow down transitions if you tend to spin a lot. Definitely get some ride alongs, Griff might be there and hopefully Josh can give you some tips too, he used to own one. |

Thank you for this advice. It finally fixed my transitions. Now I only need a way to fix the increased body roll

Really appreciate all the responses! @CarzCarzCarz, @TylerLieberman @Shady195 @slava and @TougeFactory. Helped quite a bit getting an idea of how the day will go. Will be stopping by TF some time after work to check out some helmets.
It's a couple weeks away so i'll tell you guys how it went! |

What are your thoughts on the oem rear diff? My tirewear is really uneven. Does anyone here have an aftermarket one?

Also, has anyone tried Nankang NS-20's? How does the grip level and wear compare to stock? There's a deal on slick deals

I ran -1.5 rear camber and the tires always wore out pretty evenly from side to side with very minimal camber wear. One pair of tires would last me nearly a full day at Mineral Wells (70-100mph entry speed). Tried the Nankangs on one of my 240s back in the day. They were adequate for rears. Trash up front though in my opinion. I liked Kenda KR20, Federal 595, and 595EVO all better than the Nankangs up front. All of which are about the same in price.

Should have specified that I just was talking about the rears, I have the Dunlop DZ102 and it has been treating me well.

So besides all the pro level vehicles running wisefab and such. Has anyone else decided to get rid of the electronic steering rack and opting for a power steering rack from a 240sx, rx7?
Super interested and curious in doing something like this
