Press information 2021.07 - JAPANESE

English translation of Subaru Media Japan about new BRZ.
Some techs and specs - for stupid: released on July, 2021 in Japan Market to announce highlights of New BRZ MY2022 JDM. Never released in other market a press release with these details.

So, it seems some of this brochure relates to the big change from 1st gen to 2nd gen, but then some of it seems to detail changes for model year 2024. Am I right? Is the engine performance the same as the ‘23 model year or has it increased slightly for ‘24? Seems like maybe it has? Other changes? I’ll have to work on my Japanese, but it’ll be model year 2035 before I can read anything…

The two most stupid posts ever. Not only years out of date, but just moronic.

I saw the date was ‘21, but given that it goes into detail about Eyesight, it might be some kind of hybrid announcement? Running changes for the model, maybe the ‘21 got scrambled during translation? Its all weird but thought it might contain info on changes for ‘24.

Well dang. I was hoping for a supercharged V10. Guess I’ll have to do Viper swap. Thanks for clarifying.

Meh. I’ll settle for nothing less than a flat 12. It’s a Subaru after all.

To continue the V8 vs V12 nonsense: In my (going senile) opinion... what we need is a slightly larger flat 4, with slightly higher revs, race-ready oiling, no RTV buggers, and about 300hp for this car to be amazing. No need for a high-torque heavy engine, as it would require a much heavier running gear and change the character of the car. Maybe a 2.8L boxer going to 8500 rpm, NA and 300hp. (Yes, and Jesus, while you are at it, do something about the neighbor's barking dog too. I would ask Moses also... but he is pre-occupied these days and really not into automotive matters.)

That's right. Is a 2021, July release in JDM for new BRZ, obviously for Japanese customers. In other market hasn't been released a press stamp with comparison to 1stGen.
I don't understand hilarious replies (not you). On front page is written 2021/07 from Subaru, no engineering capabilities required.....to understand.

I see. I was just being a doofus. Got excited that it showing all sorts of little changes to the '24 (not that I'm dying for more power, just thought it was interesting if true) anyhow, I just got suckered because the "eyesight" thing is new to the USA anyway for '24, so I thought maybe...maybe they were showing other changes?
I beg you not to send me any Nigerian prince scams because clearly I'm a good mark.

Still cool to read the brochure and see their in-depth thinking.
