Retro can work, but IMO better to let the old ones look like the old ones and take opportunities to make NEW cool designs. 64 1/2 Mustang didn't try to look like a Model T, neither should a 2015 model try to look like a car from the 60s.
Retro or no, I hope they make it smaller (bring the hood/front fenderline WAY down please!) and significantly lighter. IMO they should aggressively target 3200 lb. for the V8.

Making changes is fine, but trying to abandon originality by completely alienate the design from the old one is a dangerous direction. I hope they consider this when they try to make something fresh. Give a few elements from the past models, and add new things.

Sounds similar to the FRS/86.

And that's why people sometimes say " It reminds me of "input your word", which is a good thing."

I saw these in Motor Trend. While its their guess at what it should look like, I definitely like it better once the Mustang language is thrown on top of it. Of course, we all know it will be much tamer than that in the end (hello 86 concept).

Yeah it not a bad guess at the design of the next stang but oh well we will have to wait for it in the next couple years

From Edmunds (also posted on the Mustang vs BRZ thread)

Thought I'd add this to this thread since it is semi-confirmed by Ford here. I definitely like this better. Still a little too DB9 for my taste, but I'm sure it will change in production:

I'll take this Mustang over the concept shown above.

The rear end is the only thing I actually like from the concept and that's about it.

I definitely agree on the rear 1/4. I don't like the front end but it's a little better than the retro since it eliminates some of the grill square footage. I don't like the angular headlights though. Now I'm curious how the shape scores on coefficient of drag.
