OpenFlash Tablet

Greetings... Just wanted to drop in and say Hi. We are developing a FRS/BRZ application for our OpenFlash Tablet that we recently launched for the BMW 335i. We are finished with read/write protocol (each process taking under 2 minutes) and nearly done with map discovery.

For more info about the OpenFlash Tablet, see this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=860720

Once we have the product ready for sale, we hope to become a supporting vendor on this forum and look forward to supporting the community and answering any questions you guys may have

Best Regards,
Rombinhood Team

There is only one version. It's a little less than $400 and its entirely open (not the source, the map access). This looks like the best of all worlds. No licensing (you own it, can sell it, etc), I believe maps can be exchanged between users, no restrictions, it's impossible to encrypt maps (no lock-in to a vendor), it even functions as a gauge display, obd2 reader/clearer (with tpms reset on the bimmers). Full end user tuning. I'm excited!

This is mostly true. The only possible difference may be price. The BMW application was relatively easy to develop since we had the map address and some of the diagnostic functions provided to us by a helpful BMW tuner. And that was reflected in the low price. In this case, we are doing everything "in-house" so to speak. So the price may be slightly higher. Going through all the different rom types and creating definition files for each of them is, by far, the most time consuming part of this project. But it should still be very reasonable
